Reponse Card Question

I'm a bit confused with what to put on my response cards. It seems like on the entree selection lines there is only room for a number of items. Is there a different way to do this so you know who ordered which entree. Otherwise how do I let the waiters know who ordered what. Help!!!

Re: Reponse Card Question

  • You shouldnt have your guests put their names next to their entree, the purpose of having the entrees is to let your caterer know how much food they will be ordering for your event.

But some venues want you to indicate exactly what person is getting what entree choice.  This is often done by putting some kind of color-coded sticked on the place cards for each person.

I've seen it done where the reply card requests that each guest initial next to their entree selection.  Also, where are you getting your invitation set from?  You should be able to customize the wording and spacing on the cards.

Exactly. I've never attended a wedding where they needed to know who was selecting which entree, we only needed to indicate the number,  but I've seen it mentioned here a lot.

OP, you can ask your guests to initial their choices, that would fit on the lines.

  • Thanks for the suggestions!
  • We had three entree selections, but we did not need to know who selected what. Everyone had a guest invite, so if they were bringing a guest or their spouse, their escort card had both meals indicated on it. When the server brought dinner out they just asked who had the steak and who had the salmon and passed out the meals accordingly.
