Getting my Period for the Big Day?!

Has anyone dealt with this?  How do you change a tampon in a wedding dress?  Not only am I pissed that my wedding night is most likely ruined (we've been waiting!) but my honeymoon as well, AND cramps are so bad I'm incapacitated for half the day.  I can't afford this on the busiest day of my life!  I'm begging my doctor right now to figure something out for me!!!!

    My wedding is May 26, in 26 days.  I got my period exactly 28 days before my wedding, and no, I'm not on BC :-(

    well, are you GOING to be on BC?

    Because you CAN be on BC for reasons other than preventing pregnancy.

    Besides, if you're going to be on BC, finding out how your body reacts before you 'need' it isn't a bad thing.

    I thought about it about 4 months ago, but I was afraid of the side effects (bloating and weight gain, acne-God knows I don't need more acne) right before the wedding, especially right when I'm getting my dress fittings.  So I bailed.  It's too late to try something out now, and don't those things need AT LEAST 1 month to work anyway?  The last time I was on birth control, I wasn't allowed to switch brands til I tried them out for 3 months, none of which worked- I was never regular and I had every side effect on the friggin label.

    Haha!! No, My MOH is my sister that lives across the country- she would NEVER do that- and I'm pretty sure I couldn't trust ANYONE in my bridal party to do that for me lol<div>...lucky lol</div>

    I started my period a couple of days before my wedding, so it wasn't that bad on the day of.  Also, my dress wasn't that poofy, so I was able to handle things myself.  I wouldn't want anyone else changing my tampon, either, but I know some dresses kind of require it.  Maybe when you need to change it your MOH and a BM can clear out the bathroom, have someone act as a look out and then someone else help you out of your dress so that you can change your tampon yourself and then help you back into the dress?

    have sex. you *CAN* have sex while you have your period.

    put down towels - dark colored towels (navy/black/red) won't show blood/be as likely to stain.
