Modern Venues

Hi everyone! I normally post on the NJ board but I have a question here. I am doing a fundraiser for a family friend who is raising money for a marathon benefiting cancer and I need a venue. I'm looking for a place that will hold up to 200 people that has a little bit of a modern feel. I just want to stay away from anything too rustic. I'm open to Hudson Valley, Westchester, Rockland County - anywhere in that area. If you have approximate prices for any that would be great too but not necessary. Thanks in advance!

I think a lot of the wedding venues in the area fit your description.  I'm getting married at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie, and that is a modern venue and I believe holds 200.  But depending on when the dinner is they could already be booked because they book up really fast on the weekends.

What do you mean when you say "modern"?

The Grandview definitely has a modern feel and is used for a lot of business functions and fundraisers. (Not to mention weddings!)

I would guess that most of the venues in the Hudson Valley are more traditional ballroom types. So even though that's not rustic, it's not exactly modern.

What is it that you are looking for? Or what characteristics do you want to avoid?

I am also a little confused by the word modern  .  I consider the  Villa Barone Hilltop Manor modern , definately not rustic but we could have different views.

I think your best bet is to take a look at all the websites to all the places everyone mentioned and see if its what your looking for then take it from there :)

Good luck ,, The Villa Barone Hilltop Manor website is

        VillaBaroneHilltop.com

see if the other girls know the website to the places they were suggesting or try google  :)

I feel the Grandview is "modern" venue, but I feel that Villa Barone, while could be considered modern, has more of a traditional catering hall look.

So, what is it exactly that you are looking for?
