    If you need a more impressive feat, I'm also a grateful and gracious bride who appreciates the help our parents have given us, has a great relationship with the ILs and doesn't talk badly of them and is paying for any additional expenses myself instead of expecting others to do it.

    I'm a little confused by this question. What else do you want out of this? My end goal is to have a marriage. And a good one at that where we are both eternally grateful to my parents and his mother for contributing what they are able as we begin our lives together.

    Well duh. Obviously that is what my "end goal" is too. I was just saying that in the end the big party and everything that is planned is for the guests, not necessarily us.
