Incorporating Parents' Names on Invites

Hi ladies--

Following the Korean custom, I want to incorporate our parents' names into the invite wording. However, my challenge is that my mom does not share my dad's last name. (same with my FMIL) They both live in Korea, and in Korea, a married woman does not change her last name to her husband's. Do you think it's okay to put Mr. XX and Mrs. XX request blah blah blah....? Majority of the guests will be Americans, and I don't want them to think my mom is a step-mom. I don't really want to say Mr. and Mrs. XX because that's not what she's used to. What do you think..?

    I think you can list both parents with their own last names.  Many Western women have different last names from their husbands.

    So the invitation would read:

    Ms. Jane Smith
    and
    Mr. John Doe
    request the honour of your presence/pleasure of your company
    at the marriage of their daughter
    etc.

    Jen's suggestion for you is perfect if the last names are very long.
    If the last names are short, try putting both names on ONE line:

    Ms. Jane Smith and Mr. John Doe
    request the honour.....

    Thanks for your comments! One more quick question - so if my mom retained her maiden name, I put her name first (not my dad's)?
