Happy Weekend!

Hi from a rainy Saturday here in Ohio! I'm alive again...... came down with a nasty cold a couple days ago, so the second half of my week was work, eat, sleep. I'm still all congested and stuff, but at least I feel better. I have to cantor for 4:30 mass tonight - that's always fun with the sniffles, lol. Tomorrow we're going to the Browns-Bengals game - hopefully the weather clears up!

Hi. I'm excitedly typing from my new actually portable lappy! Yay!

I'm excited because the weather was actually nice enough to enjoy coffee outside this morning and have the doors open for a little air now! Plus, the weatherman promises temps below 100 this weekend. I"m so ready for AZ's version of fall!

Docta, I'm glad to hear you're feeling better. Sounds like you have a fun Sunday planned!

    Happy weekend!

I am feeling extremely idle right now because ILs are at my house and fighting over who gets to hold LO. Fortunately, he's been a lot less fussy lately so he's behaving really well and just sleeping in their arms, leaving me with time to do whatever.

What on earth did I ever do with my time before I had a baby? LOL.

    docta good luck cantoring!

I believe tomorrow is the first day that our church choir returns from summer so I'm very interested to see who's back and what they sound like this year (DH and I are taking a break from now).

I cannot figure out why you would want to go to such a game... ?? ;-)

We're having a party tonight! A bit of a housewarming party (finally! late, but it was originally scheduled for 3 weeks ago and we had to cancel last minute). Just 15 people or so but it should be fun :)

I just got back from hanging with my parents most of the day. My Dad cooked breakfast, which was yummy. And the we watched the Buckeyes almost lose to Toledo. That was really sad. They pulled off the win, but makes me scared for next week. H went to the game with his Grandma and should be back soon. I will probably crash early tonight since I didn't get to sleep in today much.

That must of been fun. I was rooting for Notre Dame.

It seems that unless you're from Michigan or went to Michigan most Catholic seem to root for Notre Dame. I don't know if that is true, but it is something I have noticed over the last two years. I find myself rooting for them now when I never have before. LOL the things I think of.

I hate Notre Dame. But heh, I'm a Michigan person.

And Peaches - I don't notice that, but again, I'm from a region of the country where Notre Dame is a rival of many of the teams around here. So even the Catholics don't like them. And MissySue is an OSU fan....so she's pretty much never going to root for Michigan. :-)

I am from Georgia (obviously) and so I have zero personal feelings about either team. However, the parish I attended before I moved had watching parties for all of the Notre Dame games. Every single person there loved Notre Dame. It is the same way in my new parish two hours away. So I attribute that to being Catholic since it is my understanding that it was founded with Catholic roots and is hailed as a Catholic institution in my necks of the woods. Although I have no idea how true that might be.

oh, that must have been so exciting! I didn't watch, but I just watched the highlights... (I am not normally a football fan at all... I think the only part worth watching IS the highlights... so I don't like spending 3+ hours watching everything else... ;-) )
so proud of my alma mater! :-D

Hey, the Browns game was pretty bad today, but your Steelers (aka Stinkers) had an arguably worse showing!

    You know what.

    Go Bears!

Great weekend. Mass today was amazing. The church was so packed there was not an open seat (9/11 memorial mass.)

I love seeing our grade school's football team at mass together in their football jerseys. For me it is a sign of fall. Our neighborhood is Irish so we have the ND fighting Irish leprechaun on the jerseys and shamrocks. The whole "fighting Irish" strikes me as un-Christian and derogatory but hey that is just me. Oh my gosh. My friend saw a kid trying to trip people on their way back from Communion.
