The menu... opinions.

I am having a cake/appetizer wedding, and am planning on preparing most of the food myself. Crazy me. If I find things are too difficult, I may give in and buy some items.

The guest count is 100-115. The reception begins at 2:00. (We're having a family/bridal party only ceremony at 11 am. 20 people attending that, and I'm just going to get sandwiches or something for them before the reception). My goal for the reception was to serve food that that doesn't need to be kept warm or (really) cold, since the reception is outside, and doesn't need to be eaten with silverwear. Due to the cocktail-esque style of the wedding, there will not be formal tables and such. There will be some tables and plenty of chairs, though.

On to the point....

I am going to make: Fruit trays, veggie trays, and cheese/cracker trays. I'm basing the size off of the ones that they sell at walmart/target. I'll also have hummus with pita chips.

As for more substantial items going to make brushetta served on bread, cheese/jalepeno pinwheels, spinach pinwheels, mini sandwiches with tomato slices, mozerella slices, and basil spread, and cucumber slices topped with smoked salmon and sour cream. Is 100 of each of these items enough? Is there any one that you think will be more popular? Is there any one of these that should be added or taken away? Do they mesh together well?

The wedding is fairly casual. I am going to make sure the presentation looks nice so as to add to the fancier/weddng feel.

Thanks!

The only advice I have is that at my venue, they provided enough for each guest to get 2 pieces of each appetizer.  So I'm not sure that just 100 of each is enough but maybe someone else will know better.  It sounds delicious though to me.  I can't believe you are going to try and do this all yourself, but I'm sure you've thought it out and are doing what is best for you.  Maybe you could purchase the trays to at least alleviate that much of the work.

The only thing I would be concerned with is refrigerator space. Once all that food is put on platters, you're going to be hard-pressed finding space for it. Does your venue have commercial sized refrigerators? The logistics of making food for 115 people on your wedding day makes me a little nervous. Good luck with everything!

I would allow each guest to have at least 2 of each snack, which sound sooo yummy!

You are very brave for making all that food...bruschetta takes me FOREVER to make for just 2 people...

For a cocktail-type non-meal reception, I think they recommend 6-8 pieces per person. so I'd do 150-200 pieces of each of those, in addition to cheese, fruit and veggies. With the extra trays, you might be able to stick to 150 pieces of each.

I think you should plan for 6 pieces per person. That menu sounds great! Good for you for DIYing all this yourself!!
