WEDDING VENUE LOCATIONS?

Hi guys, I just got engaged and started looking for wedding venues. I would like to have my wedding ceremony and reception all at one location. Unfortunately I am having a hard time finding places I like that aren't a crap load of money. I was looking for place downtown Cleveland but everything was very expensive. I want something unique and newer looking (I'm not into victorian or antique furnishings) or something by the water. Just overall a beautiful venue. I can be a tad bit picky, which isn't a good thing I have going for me and this planning process. Oh and the amount of people I would have would be 100 or less. I appreciate all and any feedback. Thankyouuu!

Re: WEDDING VENUE LOCATIONS?

  • I don't think it's very close to you but gervasi vineyard in canton is absolutely stunning.
  • Have you looked into Massimo's? It's just outside of downtown (right across the Superior bridge) but is reasonably priced and a very nice venue for smaller guest lists. The downtown locations tend to cost more because, well, they're downtown and they can charge more and people will pay it (often $80+ pp). What's your per person budget?

For locations by the water, you may want to consider inland bodies of water in addition to Lake Erie... country clubs, golf courses, etc.

    Good luck!

  • I loved that place, gorgeous, but it was way too expensive... they charge for the plates and even the dance floor!

  • I just saw their website today! I'm going to call tommorrow and take a look see, thanks for the suggestions. With the downtown locations not only is it per plate but you have to rent out the rooms, from what I have seen from 4k on up and that's not even including table rentals and such. I also found online today, Oaks lakeside restaurant which is really pretty, and a beautiful location but II'm still searching for more options yanno? Thanks for your help!

  • We're having our reception at The Tangier in Akron. The decor is definitely ornate and unique and it was more reasonable than some of the other places we checked out.
  • Have you looked at places in the metroparks?  Places like the Chalet?
  • <div>Ummmm, I just looked up The Tangier, and it's amazing! Good find! I'm definitely going to go check it out! Thanks for the heads up! Did you find any other interesting places during your search!?</div><div>

  • <div>Yea I have, and when I looked places up it said you couldn't have any alcohol because it's a park... which would be bad for the reception! • I really thought that for certain Metroparks venues you COULD serve alcohol, but just beer & wine and you need to get a special permit through the Metroparks. Have things changed?

  • <div>HMMMMM, I only looked at one so maybe it was just that place... I've been searching through so much stuff I probably misunderstood or got it confused with another place. I'll have to take a closer look.</div><div>

Scroll down toward the bottom of this link for Metroparks info on which of their rentable venues allow alcohol.

And, here is a list detailing what each Metroparks site has to offer, including rental prices.

  • I am looking at the chalet on Saturday with my parents and her parents also.   While talking to the chalet on the phone, you can have a bar and such

  • Massimo's and Tangier
  • Open for a friday? We saved a ton of money by going with a friday at Landerhaven. Wanted downtown initally but it was too expensive even on a friday.
  • I don't how far outside of Cleveland you are willing to go but Holden Arboretum is beautiful, and reasonably priced!
  • Windows on the River has two packages with a lot included so you wouldn't have to pay for extras like the cake...it's beautiful at night - especially the City View room
  • We got married at House of Blues. It is a little pricey, but EVERYTHING is included. (Food, Booze, linens, lighting, etc.) Staff was incredible too.
