The good/bad about your club boards

I don't know how many of you are involved in your club boards, but I've been modding mine for... probably 4 years now... and it's been really, really great. You get to know people who are in the same place as you for wedding planning. It's a great resource sharing site, and a great way to meet awesome people.

The disadvantage? The 1½ year depression when girls you got married with start to get divorced.

I'm SO surprised at how quickly it all falls apart for some people. I swear, my husband and I were saying today that we feel more in love than ever before - it's scary to think that others aren't in that place.

It was fun to post before the wedding, but my club board experienced a major..split a few months ago. It was mostly due to different personalities! So some people stayed on the club board and the rest of us started a new forum on another website. I love staying in touch with these girls and they are a great resource. Everyone is really into helping each other and it's fun because like you said, we are all at the same stage in our marriages.

We are at the 6 month mark so I hope we don't get any divorce stories

I assume club board = your wedding month board? I have to say, based on some of the things that are posted on mine, I wouldn't be surprised if those marriages fell through. Some of the posts make it evident that one or both of them are just really not ready for a mature relationship. Those posts make me really sad, and I imagine the divorce ones would as well.

Yes, the club boards are your wedding month boards... and definitely can be really hit or miss. Overall, we have a great board, no major personality clashes, super supportive.

Some of the divorces have been totally expected (why yes, the 18 year olds WERE the first to sign those papers), but some haven't. I've been really surprised at the number of people dealing with alcoholism, and people breaking up within 8 months of having kids.

I know, right?

When I first joined, I remember several girls here had FIs that cheated and they called the wedding off. It was pretty sad, but at least they found out before they got married. I think I spend far too much time living in my happy little bubble where everyone is okay.

I have yet to step foot into my club board. When I first joined I got into the Not Yet Engaged board. Likely place for me since I wasn't engaged but just looking at things. That board has an eclectic collection of ladies. Most of the discussions aren't WR so it was more like a social gathering. Though the downside is it gets to be clique sometimes. So I don't frequent that board as much as I used to. I keep in contact with some of the ladies from there through other avenues.

I haven't even been to mine. I've only posted here, destination and retro and vintage. Maybe I'll have to check it out.

Oh man, NYE seemed like it could be such a train wreck at times! I couldn't take that much drama. I was a total lurker here before I got engaged.

I didn't go to my month board much b/c it was so many people complaining and venting. They all sounded like spoiled bratty brides. Lately it's been "the what would have done differently posts" Just a bunch of nancy negatives.

I feel this way. Every time that I get on, it's a constant vent fest and need vibes. I just didn't really feel like I had a lot in common with the girls. I only really go her and DW because I feel like we're all going through more common things WR.

FI and I really want to get a couple of married friend couples locally though, so I've thought about the phx board, but everytime I get on there too, I feel like I don't click with them. Oh well!!
