Alright, where'd everyone go?

  • Great idea Musu, on the chocolate vat.  I have been on such a chocolate kick lately.  We had icecream today.  I had vanilla with peanut butter in it.  Delish!

  • Barrel, that blows about the phone.

Aryn, be safe! There is a big storm building pretty much right over us at the moment. Probably not quickly enough for us to get any serious rain out of it though, bummer.

  • Eagles, I hope you can get in soon after the wedding to see a good specialist. Migraines suck. :(

I wish it would storm here.  We've had a few little popup showers around the city today but nothing in our area.  I think we have a thunderstorm watch until 2AM though, so perhaps there is still hope!

  • Eagles, that place looks COOL.  Very worth waiting for.  H has a liking for staying in newly renovated hotels whenever we travel.  Have you been there prior?

[QUOTE]Not until next year, my pokey friend.  The Omni resort in Amelia Island is going to be closed for renovations until the spring.  :(

<div>Umm....That's my favorite place in the entire world. My parents have a summer house on the resort, I love it there. Have you been there before? </div>
  • Heh, Gloop.

Well, at least you have something to look forward to, right Eagles?

I'm trying to decide if I want to dip into my blood orange ice cream. I wish I had more of the sea salt caramel. Mmmm - I hope they have Talenti in England!

  • Oh, and if ya'll want to see a cute puppy - this little guy showed up in my newsfeed today:

  • Musu, the death penalty sounds like a good topic for that paper. Let me know how eating a vat of chocolate goes. I love chocolate, but I don't know if I could handle a vat, haha. I totally know how you feel though.

<div>Is Eagles going to have to cut leg holes in her suitcase for you too? Or was it someone else that we had that conversation with?</div>
  • CUTE, Poke!

    Mmmm a vat of chocolate.
    image
  • I don't even have a tbsp of chocolate in my house right now. :(

Also, when I'm bored, I turn on youtube videos in the background. Well what the fuckitydoo, the Spice Girls music video for "Viva Forever" is actually completely bonkers.

[QUOTE]I haven't been, but part of our reception package is a 5 night stay at one of 6 Omni resorts, and we dig AI.  We're also considering Hilton Head though.  What's the weather like there in March?

<div>We went to Hilton Head the end of March/beginning of April. It was nice but not really warm enough for swimming. (House where we stayed had a pool and hot tub. Hot tub was usable but not really the pool.)</div>

<div>It's hit or miss in March. The ocean will definitely be cold, but the weather is a tough call. I've been there around that time some years and it's chilly, and these past few springs it was gorgeous high 70's low 80's every day. </div><div>
</div><div>The Omni is definitely worth waiting for. The place was awesome before Omni took over, and their plans for renovation are looking really great. Make sure to check out the Spa while you're there, it's pretty legit. </div>
  • Hi!  I'm back from running around, and taking a nap.  The farmers market in Boulder was a success!  There were actual farmers there.  I'm trying purple carrots in my veggie roast (with potatoes, zucchini, onions, and red peppers).  Next time I will get up and go early though, cause we didn't get ther until noon and it was HOT out there.  H had a haircut at 9:45 though, which is why we couldn't go earlier.

I haven't read pages 1-6 yet.  Are they worth it?
  • Hi Loopy! I've never heard of purple carrots. I've had purple potatoes, but that's about the extent of my purple vegetables.
  • Can't say I've ever had a purple veggie.

  • Poke, I saw that picture! I almost made it my sig and wanted to add on something along the lines of being mauled.
  • I've seen/eaten purple potatoes but not carrots.

    Is eggplant a veggie?

  • Barrel - still here?  I like my iPhone through Verizon.  I liked my HTC Incredible Droid through Verizon.  Personally, these days, you can pretty much get any app for either platform so that doesn't sway me one way or another.  With the iPhone I miss the Google GPS that was on my Droid - and I found the Droid platform a little easier to navigate (it had a "back" button).  There's not really anything on the iPhone that I really really wish the Droid had.  Some of the graphics and layouts (messaging) are more visually appealing on the iPhone to me.  Honestly, I'd go to the store, pick them up and play with them and get the one that you think feels the best for your use.
  • I'm not sure if eggplant is a veggie or a fruit.
  • I'm pretty sure eggplant is a veggie.

  • Fruit or veggie, eggplant is delicious.
  • Thanks Loopy.  I've had my Droid X for a few years and I love it, but I've been checking out the iphones.  I think we'll go play with the phones tomorrow to see what best fits us.

Gotta love having to spend money while we're waiting for our house to make it through inspection and fund.  Good timing H.

I had to look it up. Apparently, it's a fruit. Actually, it's considered a berry. Hmmm. News to me.

ETA: Other sources call it a veggie. Apparently we are not the only ones puzzled.

  • I'm planning on making eggplant parmesan with it Monday or Tuesday.

H almost just burned the apartment down.  He came in, set a binder and some file folders down on the island and walked back out.  About 30 seconds later I start going What is that burning smell?  I look over and there's smoke pouring off the stove top.  I have veggies roasting in the oven and my first thought was that THEY were smoking - nope H set a plastic binder half on top of the stove and then knocked the button and turned the burner on high.  Obviously he didn't realize he did it, but geesh.  Talk about getting your heart rate up.
  • What? It's considered a berry? Who knew?
  • March is pretty good.  Still probably a little cold to get in the water, but nice for hanging out on the beach and putzing around.

  • Ahh that is scary, Loopy. That sounds like quite the accidental bump, haha.
