Night Thread...KUI or not

Apparently, I'm a PW today. Sorry.

Anyone around? I'm about to make a sweet tea vodka and lemonade and eat my dinner of Mexican Lasagna, Rice, and Mini Peach Cobblers for dessert. Yum.

I wish I could get into swimming...I tried in HS, but I think I need music when I'm exercising.

Recipe for the Mini Peach Cobblers (clicky). If you like peaches, you should make these-Grilled Peaches and Cream (also clicky). So, so good, and not that bad for you.

  • I'm here. I'm making CDs for BF and mine's road trip next week. It always takes me forever to make CDs because I'm really weird about what songs go together on which CDs and what order they should all go in.

Those peach recipes sound so good.   Why is there nothing good on TV?

Danser...NY Med is on ABC at 10! It might just be my love of all medical TV shows, but I've been loving it so far.

We (BF, one of our friends, hopefully BF's brother, and I) are driving up to Montana. We also have a bunch of friends planning to come hang out with us through out the week. The spot we are camping (Cliff & Wade Lake - if anyone is familiar with MT) is about 2 hours from my hometown so some of my friends will be coming for part of the week and then the town where BF and I met (and went to college for our freshman year) is 2 hours the other directions so we have some friends dropping by from there. I am beyond excited for this trip!

  • Danser - You should! I grew up doing a lot of camping in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado. I love it, there are so many beautiful places.

<div>That sounds awesome. I camped a lot growing up (actually, in Glacier National Park for about a week once), and then I had a traumatic experience when I was about 14, involving my entire crazy family, a campground in NC in July where it was about 110 degrees, and absolutely nothing to do for about 4 days. It is not somewhere we would have usually chosen to camp, but my brother and I were going to the same camp down there, and his ended like 3 days before mine started...so my Dad decided we were all going down and camping for the time in between. It was so, so awful. I haven't been camping since. But, I've been really wanting to go again. I think it would be a lot of fun to go with a bunch of friends. </div>

  • I'm here, though not KUIing (K-ing-UI?). Ate a late dinner of mac & cheese, waiting for SO to come over after he gets off work in 45 minutes. Thinking about doing an exercise DVD because said mac & cheese, as good as it was, kinda has me feeling like a bag of smashed @$$holes. And finally, catching up on NEY posts -- chortling at "Too Young?" If you have to ask, YOU ARE.

    The Montana trip sounds awesome!

  • Colorado is AMAZING. I admit I've only been there in the winter, but some dear friends of mine went there last summer & liked it so much they went back for their honeymoon last month.

I take it you guys are primitive camping (i.e., in a tent)? It's really not too bad. Just make sure you have your sense of humor packed, as my Girl Scout leader used to tell me.

  • Yeah we are going tent camping. We know what to expect, we've done A LOT of camping the past few summers. Unfortunately due to the fires in CO this will be our first trip out this summer.

Joja - You should definitely go again. Camping with friends is much more fun. Plus the fact that you can drink certainly doesn't detract from the fun ;)

We are still trying to convince BF's brother to go. He is being lame about it.

</div><div>Wait, but you still sleep in the tent? As opposed to backpacking? Yeah, I still consider that "real" camping, haha. I seriously don't know how people backpack and camp. I'd get way too freaked out and convince myself I was going to get eaten by a bear. I'm sure it's awesome to be in the middle of real nature, though.

The kids are doing well.  Brock is just going through a growth spurt.  It must be hard to be a giant baby (aka 99th percentile hugeness.)  He's been rolling over both ways for awhile.  He is a big talker and jibber jabbers all day long.  It melts my cold, icy, dark heart.  Hehe.

Gavin has been sleeping in his big boy bed for the past week.  He is doing an awesome job!

  • Awww, they are so, so cute.

Ugh, now BF and are fighting...over housework...again. This is literally the only things we ever argue about, but we never seem to get anywhere. I can ask him nicely to do the things we have agreed he will do (aka, get the piles of laundry off the floor of our bedroom so that I can vaccum, wash the dinner dishes) 10 times, but he doesn't do it until I'm mad and yell. I just told him that I don't want to be having this same fight for the rest of our lives, and he said "well, I think we might have to. I hate doing this stuff, and I'm probably never going to do it unti you yell at me". Now he's offended because I said I think I do at least 90% of the housework.
    image
  • In regards to housework, we set up 'nagging' appts with each other.  If something needs to get done, we set up a date by which we can do it on our own before the other is allowed to 'nag.'  We call it nagging because it is funny to us.  However, it gives each of us the independence to do it on our own time frame, while allowing the other to push if/when it is needed.

After 3 glasses of wine, I don't know if I am describing it appropriately.

Makes sense to me...we actually do the same thing. I asked him to take care of the laundry before he went to his parents this weekend. He didn't do it. So, I am now nagging him about it, as well as the dinner dishes (90% of which I did while cooking). His excuse is he worked 12.5 hours today.

First of all, the only thing I asked him to do tonight was get the actual food put away. Secondly, after my four 12.5 hour shifts this weekend, I went grocery shopping, and cooked dinner yesterday. So, I have very little sympathy.
