Congratulations on the big check!  Where did you get your gown?  What does it look like?

I'll be honest- I have absolutely no idea how to describe it! Lolol There are no pics of it on his website either! Its a full ballgown with a lot of beadwork on the bodice and hem/ train with beadwork traveling up from the floor in spots. It has a sweetheart neckline that has a small v in the middle wih pleating around the top. The bottom is super poofed yet very elegant and I believe it's silk. I got it in ivory :) wish i could find a pic on the internet :/ It kept making me think of Grace Kelly. We got it at Park Avenue Bridals! My salesperson was Joan and she was outstanding! I went in asking about Maggie dresses but kept looking at this one rack of Stephen Yearik gowns. When I was going in to take off my final dress, my mom pulled her asside and told her to bring this dress in to me. She saw me noticing it during the appointment whenever I walked past it and she loved it as well- only problem- it was way expensive- pretty much quadruple my original budget! YIKES! When I put it on, it was perfect! We were able to negotiate $800 off the dress and they threw in the slip which is normally $70. Brought it down into the "oh god how much?screw it! I'll eat rice for a year!" range lolol All in all- fabulous experience! They even had one of the workers put it on so I could see if from a different point of view which was extremely helpful!!

    Congrats!!

I went to Park Ave bridal and tried on Stephen Yearick dresses last week! (the designer was actually there doing a trunk show!) I am so curious as to which one you tried on.. I can't find any of the ones I tried on on his website either. One had an amazing skirt - pickups with crystals sewn into each pickup.
His dresses are very exquisite. He worked with me one on one and combined 2 dresses to create a stunner that I might actually purchase (I still have one more appointment tomorrow at another salon).

I did hear something that he actually makes the dresses straight from your measurements and they fit like a glove. He's big with evening gowns and pageant gowns and I believe also designs dresses for Ysa Makino which can be seen alot on the red carpet.

Thanks!! We were super excited!!! You are correct in your research :) He does design a lot of red carpet gowns! Yeah his site doesnt have that many of his dresses on it. I cant find mine anywhere on the internet and have noticed most girls saying the same! He does make the dresses customed fit which is probably another reason for the hefty price tag. They told me at Park Avenue that his dresses are most expensive ones in the shop....at which point I cringed lol custom coutoure comes at a price! mine doesnt have pickups..although I loooove them! The bottom is really full and would probably be overboard with them! If you want to message me ur email addy, I can send u a pic I took there :) I have no idea how to post pictures on the board! Lol

    So exciting, congrats!!
I also got my dress at Park Ave and had a great experience, and similar experience.  I liked every dress my consultant pulled, but of course the dress I loved was also one of the more expensive dresses in the store, a Lazaro.  There was another dress I really really liked, and tried to convince everyone with me that I should get that one, but they all knew the Lazaro was "the one".
I've heard great things about Stephen Yearick, and your dress sounds beautiful!!

he's a wonderful designer.  he's not well known yet which is probably why his gowns aren't in the 10k range.  there is so much beadwork and detail to the gowns, it's so amazing!

I saw your gown there!!! I actually thought they looked similar as well!! lol He was there last weekend! I know he's coming back a few more times this year, so I'm planning on popping in to meet him the next time he's there. :o) I loved his beadwork as well! They told me that he uses Swarovski crystal for all of it.  I'm glad he's still somewhat under the radar b/c if the gown cost anymore I would have probably passed on it lol It was def. way, way over what I had in mind to spend, but sooo worth it!!
When is your gown due to arrive???  Have you had a good experience so far at Park Avenue?

let me know when he's going to be there again!  i'd love to meet him!  my gown was out of my original price range too, but the quality is so wonderful, i think it was well worth it!  my gown is actually in...it's been in since last august, lol!  i ordered it right after i got engaged (last december) because i was afraid it would be discontinued since it is a 2008 design.  i got to try it on and it is a little bit big so some alterations will be needed.  i didn't know that they could be custom ordered to your exact measurements...no one told me that!!  they just ordered me the size that they felt was right for me.  maybe this is a new thing he's doing?  did they order yours to your exact measurements??  i'm a little worried about the alterations because i've heard mixed reviews about park avenue...i'm sure it will be fine though.  i have to say, so far they've been great.  it's definitely not the prettiest looking salon, but everyone has been really helpful and my consultant, Andrea is a sweetheart!  i'll let you know how everything turns out!  i'll probably schedule my fittings in 3-4 months.

    Hi Guys,

I bought a Stephen Yearick dress too. I think the crystals and embroidery realy pop and have a wow factor. I got mine at Bridal Reflections. Love the ones you both chose. Very pretty. I love the details. Here's mine. I'm excited to share cause when I say Stephen Yearick not many people know about him and i can't send them the link to his website because the pictures don't do the dresses justice. Much nicer in person.

    Rosalia
