Now that A can walk...

He's marching back and forth in his crib holding his bottle with one hand.

He should have been napping 2 hours ago.

Re: Now that A can walk...

  • sounds cute.

babies don't sleep. i am convinced of this. they have too much to do.
  • They do have tons to do. Lots of exploring. So much in fact, that they can't sit still for a diaper change.

I think they really need to full exhaust themselves before they can sleep. Or at least he does.

i sent this guy to daycare with bags under his eyes because he was so tired today. poor thing.

and i have zero photos of him passed out in his jumperoo or playing with toys like most people have. he NEVER passes out while playing!
  • Last night M fell dead asleep in the middle of a bottle.

  • A has the bags under his eyes right now.

And he also never passes out while playing. I think it's so cute when kids do that, but I don't think he ever has. Once he's into something, he is completely focused and would not even dream of closing his eyes.

  • Buffy doesn't believe in sleeping/passing out while playing either.

But themarching lets you know that he will never sit quietly in a cage, he will fight for his freedom :-P
  • DefConn doesn't pass out while playing either.  He was exhausted last night, but still had the energy to go back and forth to climb on top of me and DH as we laid on the floor playing with him.

Saturday night, he was partying down in his crib for a good 30-45 min after I put him to bed.

  • I have one who will do this and one who won't. And even the one who does really won't if he's *playing* playing. But car rides or TV? At least it's a possibility.

And now my good sleeper is becoming a bad sleeper. I am doomed.

  • my bad sleeper is FINALLY becoming a good sleeper. we still have our issues, and he also will walk around the crib instead of laying down, but we're hopeful the future will eventually bring us allsome sleep.
  • My youngest niece was like this. Fought sleep every time. Oldest niece was the opposite. She would crash and when she was old enough would actually ask if it was time to go to bed because she was tired.

  • my good sleeper is still a good sleeper - but when she plays, she plays.

she will play through exhaustion, and the second she is in her crib/pnp/carseat will conk out.
  • He's a car sleeper a lot of the time, which is both convenient and inconvenient. When he's sleeping, I won't wake him to get out of the car unless it's incredibly important, so sometimes errands are put off because of it. Oh well - the boy needs his sleep!

    Awwwwww

M2 loves a party.  She'll happily play through a nap if someone else is around.

  • DefConn's only a car sleeper if he's tired, otherwise it's a party back there.

He can be a crappy napper.  I've found that if I cover his window with a blanket to make it dark in his room, he'll sleep longer.  Or if I put him in my bed and nap with him, he'll conk out for at least and hour and a half.

  • C won't fall asleep while playing either.  It took 1.5 months of sleep training to get his naps from 15 minutes to over an hour.  We are still on a 3-4 nap schedule though.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
  • Neither of my girls will pass out while playing.  But they are both damn good sleepers.

DD2's new thing is to spin around so her head is at the other end of the crib.  I'm going to lay her that way tonight to see if she spins around the other way for fun or if she stays that way because she likes it.
  • Another one here who won't pass out while playing. Mine would rather have an agony and tear filled time of it than risk missing out on somehting for a nap. He's a good sleeper once he goes to sleep but he now talks to himself and tries to get out of bed and play after you put him in bed for a nap or for the night.
