Jobs of the Best Man

What are the jobs of the Best Man? My boyfriend is the best man in his best friend's wedding. He has no clue what he's doing though. Outside of planning the bachelor party and giving a speach, what are the responsibilities of the best man? Thanks!

<div>The only thing he has to do is get the tux and show up.  He may need to sign as a witness also.  </div><div>
</div><div>Most BMs volunteer some extras.  Organizing the b-party is the big one.  He may also volunteer to go tux/suit shopping with the groom, or help the groom with whatever planning he's handling.  (My H's BM helped him haul decor to our venue the day before our wedding.)  Sometimes the BM will offer to handle details on the day of, like delivering payments or tips to vendors.  He may also volunteer to pack up any physical gifts brought to the reception and get them home for the couple.  </div><div>

    1. Put on required outfit
    2. Show up for ceremony
    3. Stand next to groom
