  Talk to your florist.  Tell her your colors and ask her what she can do that is in season.  She'll have ideas!

  Some ideas of what should be in season (if you are in CA) & available in your colors in October; ones to consider, though I'm not a professional florist...and the best advice is to talk to one  but
  
  Zinnias
  Celosia
  Dahlias
  Lisianthus (<-- I loved my purple lisianthus!)
  Some types of lilies
  Roses are always, of course, fairly easy to get!
  
  I"m sure there are mamy more options; those are ones I like.

  My wedding is also October. I'm using stock and purple gladiolus. You can also use spider mums in yellow, yellow calla lilies, yellow gladiolus, gerber daisies, sunflowers, purple hydrangea, purple orchids, yellow roses.

  My wedding is also in October, and I am doing yellow, orange, and purple flowers. We are using mostly dahlias, with irises, asiatic lillies, and freesia. I'm in CA, and according to my florist, these are all either in season or reasonably priced.

  I'm using purple Astor, lavendar stocks, gerber daisies, and tiny yellow filler flowers for my purple and yellow wedding in October.  Pic is of astors...my new favorite flower!
