We got engaged when he asked my dad if he can marry me.... then we went to pick out my ring :) and I LOVE IT!!!!
  • My fiance proposed on the beach.  My ring is a tiffany legacy 2-1/2 carat asscher cut .  We picked it out together and its perfect!!!!
  • First of all.. all these rings are just beautiful!  Kudos girls and guys!  :-)

My FI picked it out himself and had it made for me!  He did an AMAZING job!
1.5 caract center and 5.0 carats all the way around.  He made the video below to propose.  The picture at the end of the vido on the actual proposal is basically my ring except my center stone is a six prong setting and the rest of the stones along the side are in individual 4 prong settings.

My FH picked out a ring all on his own. He is currently stationed in Iraq and is due to come home in 71 days (August 15th)! He actually asked me over text message since he isn't home. He has been kinda spacey for like a week before he proposed and when I asked him about it, he sent me a link to my ring and told me I better say yes! He later told me that one of his friends from his unit gave her "ok" on it before he bought it.

Because he wants to be the one to put it on my finger, I do not yet have it but will finally get it when he comes home! His mom is safe-keeping it and showing it to everyone she knows (except me b/c I'm not allowed to see it in person). From what I have been told, it is WAY more beautiful than the picture and I can't wait to see it!

It is the most expensive thing anyone has ever bought me and I'm going to treasure it forever!!!! My mom even says that the ring is so "ME". It's my favorite cut, a beautiful setting, and he picked it out with no help from me! We had talked about marriage when he was home on leave in April but neither of us was wanting to rush anything so when he asked me (even though it was only via text), it was a completely wonderful surprise!

    I LOVE SPC Wellman FOREVER!

  • Last May my fiance got together with my best friend/roommate (now bridesmaid !)  in college to make up a story about how her cousin was going to propose to his girlfriend and he didn't know what kind of ring to get so she asked me my opinion of what kind of ring I would like and passed the information on to him. In our search for her "cousin" I found a setting I absolutely fell in love with on some random website and without my knowing my friend forwarded it to my fiance. 6 months later, he remembered the setting and was somehow able to find it at a jewelry store in the mall. He wasn't sure which diamond cut I wanted so he just got the marquis that was set in it there. I always wanted a princess cut and he said I was free to change the main diamond but after going to the store and seeing it with the princess, the marquis just enhances the setting so much better. So we just upgraded the size but kept the marquis.  I don't think I'm even going to wear a wedding band with it because I think the setting is so unique and I don't want it ruined! It's funny though because he bought it right out of the display case but everytime I go in that store to get it cleaned they tell me how beautiful it is and ask if we had it custom designed!

  • happy C&V I watched your video. It was the sweetest thing! Congratulations again :)

I love looking at everyone's rings.

Here is mine.  I'm absolutely in love with it and never take it off.

  • Ccandela - your ring is stunning! Looks just like the one my bf and I picked out! Congrats!
  • We picked my ring out together. We got it in St. Thomas. It has 93 individual diamonds.

  • Well.... Hopefully if I have done this correctly... My ring will show up as part of my signature page...

It's my FI's grandma's ring-it's about 70 years old. The center stone is a mine cut. It has just the most amazing sparkle. So honored to wear something that has been a part of my FI's family...

  • Handmade by a local jeweler, designed by my fiance. Princess cut, 6 tiered round diamonds on each side, 7 small diamonds on the each side of the "scallops", and the sweet little touch... my favorite stone, an alexandrite, on the inside of the band.

  • I knew a proposal was on its way since my FI is very blunt about serious conversations!  It was still somewhat of a surprise when Easter morning, he had me hunt for an Easter basket.  Inside the basket was a dyed egg that said "Will You Marry Me?"  Inside a plastic egg in the basket was my ring!

I gave him ideas that I wanted a Marquis and a unique band, but he picked the ring out on his own.  He did a great job!!!

  • My E-ring is a 1.58 colorless princes cut solitaire, its by simon g, we picked it out together and I love it!!!
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE!! my engament ring! :) He proposed in front of Cinderella's castle at Magic Kingdom  in Orlando, FL.

    it's  a 1.35 tw vvs1 F princess cut diamond
We picked it out together at International Diamond Center. We were also looking at other rings at Jared's & Helzberg, but we went to IDC because he wanted to cheer me up and we have never been there (lol). 2 days later we ended up buying the ring :):)

  • My FI actually proposed to me three times over a week, the last being when he finally had the ring in his possession!

My gorgeous ring came from Frassanito Jewellers in Huntington, Long Island where they did an amazing job putting the ring together! It is just what I wanted, a classic ring with a modern twist. 126 hearts on fire diamonds in the band and my beautiful 2ct solitaire to top it off! Frassanito's (www.frassanitojewelers.com) did an AMAZING job taking care of my ring! Everyone compliments me on it!

It's really hard to catch the shine in the pic but it sparkles a million colors!

  • i love my engagement ring! we (mostly I..) had been shopping around for rings for a bit before getting engaged. we shopped around and tried some on. i fell in love with tacori rings, so we were going to get something of that style made at a local jeweler. but he surprised me with this one!
  • We bought the ring together and then he proposed a few weeks later.  It was a good thing that he did it this way as I had a completely different idea in my head on the type of ring that I wanted.  I knew I always wanted a vintage and thought I wanted a solitaire, but everyone I tried on didn't look right.  Needless to say ring shopping didn't start off as fun as I thought it would be and was about to give up when we found this ring.  I couldn't be happier with it and stare at it all the time with a big smile on my face.

[QUOTE]I love how all of these rings are beautiful and unique - no two are alike - and mine is no exception.  My ring has round diamonds in the shape of a flower and I have yet to see anyone else with something that looks like it.  Let's be proud of our "non-traditional" rings, ladies!  Show those babies off! :)  Congrats to everyone!

omg what are the odds that we'd both have the same ring lol. I love it though. My FI did a great job in picking it. It's unlike any other ring I've seen any engaged woman wear. (PS Don't worry though I'm pretty sure we live thousands of miles away from each other <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />)

  • I am an antique sort of girl. I am also a jewelry girl. I wanted antique, and I wanted quality. My Fiance, Jared, got this ring from a jewler who specializes in restoring antique pieces! This ring is from 1940! Center diamond is internally flawless (completely colorless, no inclusions even with a jewler's loop, and ideally cut. this is not so common at all to find if you browse around most jewelry stores), and the side stones are near to being flawless.

It's so perfect for me. I'm so in love with it :)

My fiance' originally picked out a 1kt oval diamond in a 14kt white gold setting when her proposed to me on July 4, 2009.

A few months later,  we went back to the jewler and picked out a 1/3kt setting with round diamonds in 14kt white gold  together.

I could not be happier with my ring, and am even happier to be marrying the wonderful man who gave it to me! <3

Can't wait for our big day, September 17, 2010.  Less than 4 months to go!!!

  • We actually picked out this ring together. One day out of the clear blue, he said he wanted to take me shopping to look at rings. So we went to every last jewelry store in our area, and after a long and very frustrating trip, I found this one. The next evening, he actually bought it and proposed with it! I didn't even want a diamond at first, but once I saw this ring, I fell in love. It's beautiful and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

He had taken me into Jared's The Galleria of Jewelry and had me help him pick it out. I showed him different stone and bands, he put the two together!  I love my ring and couldn't vision anything thing else, it's perfect!

  • I totally wanted him to pick it out himself, but on the valentine's day before the summer we got engaged he drug me into a jewelry store so i was just trying things on, but i always thought i wanted a princess cut. turns out its good he did this b/c i didn't like the princess cut on my finger and fell in love with the marquise. i'm very simple though so i just have a 1 ct solitaire....now the problem is finding a wedding band that fits with a marquise because of the way it sticks out...

  • After being together for 3 years we decided that we wanted to get engaged.  He was afraid he would pick something I wouldn't like so we decided to pick out a ring together.  We ended up going with a custom piece because I wanted a diamond oriented west-east.  I LOVE it!!!  We are getting married on July 24, 2010
  • I wanted a non-traditional ring that was big enough to stand out on my long fingers. My ring came from a local jewelry designer in Albuquerque, NM. My fiance and I frequent her shop often, and I have loved this ring for years. I probably tried it on every time I went into the store. I was so surprised when he popped the question with my dream ring. Its a huge square-shaped sterling band with a tiny gold trim and a tension set purple tanzanite. The stone is a little over 2 karats, and it is so sparkly against the gold and silver. I know I am biased, but I think it is the most unique and beautiful ring I have ever seen. I get compliments on it everyday. Sometimes, I look at it and just smile to myself. I am so happy with it :)

  • He knew I loved antique jewelry and this is the 1930's antique platinum ring he picked out all by himself. It's perfect for me.  Since no bands fit it we are having a band made for it using the dimonds from my Mother's ring so that she will always be with me. 13 days to go! YAY!!!!

  • I was never the kind of girl that dreamt about her wedding day since she was a little girl, but I sure did hope this would be the ring I would get! I showed him the types of rings that I like, and he picked it out perfectly. The diamond is heart shaped. I couldn't have asked for anything better! :)

  • I am way to picky to have let him choose it on his own, I searched everywhere and when I found it I posted a bookmark at the top of my internet window that said "THIS IS THE ONE!!".  Well, he listened and I love it!

  • My ring, it's very vintage and SO beautiful. He said he looked at
almost a hundred but couldnt get this one out of his head!

He proposed at Disney in front of his whole family...and lots of strangers!!!

My ring is an asscher cut, 3.5 carat center stone (don't know the total carat weight of the ring), set in platinum.
It's actually my mother's ring from her ex-fiance (he was killed by a drunk driver). After he died, she kept the ring.
She said the ring was meant to be lucky for someone, and that  I should be that someone. :)

Now the problem is finding a wedding band to work with it...

I absolutely LOVE this ring. I wanted my ring to be different from any other I've seen. No one I know has a black diamond. It's a 1 1/2 ct black diamond princess cut with smaller side stones.
