Dishes

I am wondering if it would be exceptable to use quality plastic china instead of real dishes at the reception. I am trying to cut cost and I am affraid if I rent dishes that if anything gets broke or lost I will have to pay for that on top of renting them. I dont want to buy real dishes because I will not have the need for them after. What do you think? Is this tacky or exceptable?

Is the wedding outside?  I think that is too informal for an indoor reception, but you could probably make it work outside.  But I also wouldn't be too worried about things breaking, they probably won't!

I would suggest that you rent actual china... the cost really isn't that bad. Especially if you're working with a great rental company. China averages between $0.45 - $1.00 depending on the style. So if your caterer is telling you the rental cost is more... do a bit of research for area rental companies :)
