Favors!

So I keep hitting a wall on the Favor's! I really don't know what to do for them. I've thought about seed paper, photo booth, maybe chocolates. I just feel like most people don't care about them and I don't want to spend a lot of money on something everyone will just toss when they get  home! Any ideas?

Ive hit the same road block and from what ive gathered asking around most people dont keep wedding favors. So ive been told the most sensible favor is something edible. You know candies will get ate so at least with an edible option its not money getting thrown in the trash. Most people other than immediate family or very close friends will not keep something around that has been personalized with your names and wedding date so to me going in that direction seems to be a waste of money. We are planning to do some sort of containers with candies in them. HTH and good luck!

I think edible is the way to go. I've heard of people making chocolate dipped pretzels or cookies themselves, and then bagging them up. It seems to be the most economical way to go, besides skipping them altogether.

I am doing a old time candy buffet at my wedding.  That way it acts as a focal point and something to look at and the guests can choose what candy they want.  I have monogrammed bags for the guests to put the candy in.  I too think edible is the way to go.  good luck!

We are lame--- we are not doing them.. because we don't ever keep the favors ourselves, so we are opting not to.

What does anyone think of donating money to a charity instead?

We used organza bags and filled them with hershey kisses. The hershey kisses have stickers on them with our name and wedding date. We had teh same thought process that edible was the way to go.

FI's groomswoman just offered to make custom cookies for us, so I guess that's what we are having. She'll make them in NC and then decorate them and I'll have to go help her bag them when she gets here the week of the wedding. Joy! At least its free.

I'm doing Christmas ornaments, but they won't be personalized. I don't care if the people keep them or not because honestly we are using them mainly as escort cards and we got them SUPER cheap. If they leave them behind, I'll use them on my Christmas tree at home so whatever.

Our place cards though are candy canes, which is edible so I don't see many of those getting left behind.

We are not doing favors - it didn't make the budget cut list and it was an easy thing to cut as I don't think most people even notice.  We have personalized matchbooks that go with the sparklers for our sendoff... perhaps that is sort of favor-ish.

We're having a photo booth, but more because the groom wants one, not because we considered it a favor. His Mom is putting together favors for us of snack mix from www.txchoice.com. This is a company that his Mom runs and they've done several favors in the past either with snack mix, their chili mix, or one of the rubs. Most people who buy favors from them are looking for something 'texas-y' and their product fits the bill. It was one of the first things she volunteered to do for us. We're going to be putting the snack mix in take out boxes that are in our wedding colors. I hope they'll be a big hit!

Our venue has a firepit so we'll have out little bags with chocolates, marshmallows, and graham crackers if people want to make some smores. But we'll probably only have enough for 25ish guests as I don't see everyone trying to make one. Other than that, we're not doing favors because every wedding I've gone too, I've thrown the favor away (if it wasn't edible).

I cleaned out my car a couple weeks ago and found a matchbook favor from a wedding we went to a looooooong time ago. lol

We can't decide what to do for ours either. I was thinking of doing little bags with sour patch kids in them, because it is our favorite candy, and doing some cheesy tag like "for all of life's sweet and sour moments that we will face together..."

We are going the edible route as well; however not in the form of candy. We will be having Chick-fil-a classic sandwiches and bottles of water as our favors. We figured since my parents are allowing an open bar that we should attempt to sober people up on the way out.

I'm thinking about having small potted plants/flowers that double for table decorations. I couldn't justify spending a lot of money on flowers that would just be thrown away afterwards and thought this would be a good compromise.

We really didn't do favors as we didn't have the budget for them. We had a photobooth which served as the guestbook and the favor. On the photostrip, our guests kept 1 side of the strip which served as their favor.
