Wedding Recap and Withdrawal

Is anyone else experiencing this?

So it's been three weeks since we said "I do." Since that day, I have become almost *obsessed* with babies and feelings of wanting to be pregnant. Which is very odd for me- I'm an only child and would like to only have one. I make excuses to walk by and look at cribs and carseats and baby clothes at every store that carries them. We've discussed having kids (he wants two), but agree that we should wait for a couple years until I get my next degree. What's going on?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Is anyone else experiencing this?

  • I've been the opposite. Right after the wedding everyone's been asking us "when"... and it got really annoying LOL.

  • I had this feeling aswell i want a baby so bad but we booked a cruise for June 2011 so i have to wait till atleast April/May to try,it seems like everyone is preggers but me.
Hubby wants a baby just as bad as i do but in a way im glad we have to wait bc it gives us some time to just be married and enjoy life togeather.
  • I had a hysterectomy two years ago, so children are not in our plans at all.
  • I go through times when I want to have a baby but I really think it's just hormones messing with my head! I really don't want kids for a few years. I want to enjoy married life, travel a little bit, save up, maybe get a house also before bringing a baby into things. But those hormones sure are pesky buggers and they screw with any logical thinking you have LOL

<div>Ditto this, though my surgery was seven years ago.  We're going to get a puppy once we have a house with a yard.</div>

    Hey, Hyster Sista! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

I am a stepmother to DH's 18 yo son and 22 yo daughter, but they are way too old for me to have any maternal feelings towards them.  However, I have two wonderful boy cats, and I call them my "sons!"
  • I've wanted a baby badly since before I met my husband.  I've always wanted to be a mother.  However, we are waiting at least a year before we try.  I don't look up baby stuff or anything but we are planning for the future by saving, being financially ready, etc.
  • Can't say I have. My sister-in-law had a baby a week and a half before our wedding so the family already has one baby to fuss over (although the SIL keeps mentioning how we should have one). My new nephew is cute but whenever I see him I'm also reminded of the dirty diapers, spit up, crying, etc that comes with the territory. The hubby and I want to have kids in a couple years but we'd like to enjoy married life with each other without adding to the equation.
  • I am not looking to shop for baby stuff, but I am constantly thinking of cutting out all alcohol consumption ( the whopping 1 or 2 drinks I have a week) or increasing my vitamin intake to prep my body.

By the will of God, we want to TTC in early 2011.

  • I still have 42 days to go and I'm already feeling like this. It comes and goes though. I love children, and will be dealing with them on a regular basis when I complete my studies. I've always wanted 4 but FI wants 2. We're going to wait for at least a year to start trying, but if it happens before that time we'll be ok with that. We've been together for 6 years with very little "us" time so we both wanted to wait. Me so I could spoil him, lol. And him so we could be more financially stable. I am definitely going through the "i wanna have a baby now" phase lol.

  • i still have a long time to go before the wedding but I have had baby fever for a year now. It does come and go but it is here more then not. My fiance is the same way. I would just love to wait till school is over and i can start working full time again. So then we can talk about a house before a baby.

If I would say yes to a baby right now my fiance would be so happy. He isn't a huge wedding fan, he just wants to spend the rest of his life with me and our family. I am the one who wants the wedding. He is happy about it though, but he doesn't like how it is pushing back the baby date. lol

  • It comes and goes. We just got a puppy, so that's helping stave it off a little longer. Lol.

  • On our honeymoon I told my new husband that I had babies on the brain.  He just grinned at me.  I agree with MissyCee...blame the hormones!

I have had baby feaver for afew years now. So I know what you are feeling! It kinda drives you nuts!! I have been dating my guy for over 4 years and just got engaged this Thanksgiving. We are going to start trying for kids the night of our wedding! So that is very exciting for us! Good luck! There is no problem with waiting. :)
