AW: Good news..I got a promotion! Oh and I need recommendations..for like EVERYTHING!

So I had mentioned last week that I had some good news to share and finally I can say I got a promotion!! Im super excited because I haven't been working at my job a full year yet and I got offered two promotions and got to choose which one I wanted.

Back to wedding planning...Im having a hard time finding another venue to have my ceremony at. I am having my reception at River Ridge Golf Club but I don't like their golf course for the ceremony..any ideas??

I also need recommendations for everything..lol: Flowers, DJ, videographer, caterer, etc. in the Raleigh, Durham, Cary area. Thanks.

Flowers: DEFINITELY Fresh Affairs in Raleigh, they are wonderful and exceeded my high expectations. Lyn is an artist and will make your flowers fabulous. No matter what you give him to work with budget wise, he'll make it look great.

DJ: Bunn DJ Company. We used Joe but I know ALL of his DJs have fabulous reviews. You can't go wrong here either.

Videographer: I used Cinematrimony out of Charlotte. They were so amazing and although we haven't gotten our film back yet, I'm confident it will be awesome. http://www.cinematrimony.com/index1.htm

We didn't use a caterer because it came with our venue... What else do you need?

Rentals/linens?? I recommend CE Rentals in Raleigh. They had the best prices on the things we rented (chairs, linens, etc) and had a good selection. Cake? I recommend Sweet Memories in Apex. Simply amazing cake, they're always gorgeous and the best tasting cakes I've ever had (for real)!

Congrats Janece! We didn't use a caterer or DJ.....but you know that "All the Right Grooves" is a board favorite and so is Joe Bunn DJ Company (like Meredith said). Depending on what type of party you're planning on having, you might want to consider having a family friend act as "DJ" for the day. This is what we did and it worked out SO WELL, but then again, we had pretty short daytime wedding and didn't plan on having a wild, crazy dance floor. If you have questions about doing the ipod thing, let me know!
Also, I used Fresh Affairs (like Meredith) and we both loved them. I agree with Meredith on CE Rentals, too. And I used KA Studios for videography. Haven't seen the video yet, but Keith worked really hard and his other work (on their blog) is really really good!

Flowers: Tre Bella is amazing! I love all Meredith's recs too (Sweet Memories for cake! It tastes AMAZING) and you cannot go wrong with Fresh Affairs either. I'm using Tre Bella because I'm on a budget (in addition to their amazingness) and they were a bit more in line with what I wanted to spend. (Plus they did Grace's flowers, who was on this board before she moved to CO, and they did an awesome job.)

Photographer: Robin Lin! Amazing photographer- she was the first vendor I booked, I had to have her... even before I had a venue! She also worked with Grace. (I totally stole all Grace's ideas, clearly.)

Caterer: If you need a caterer, I definitely recommend either Durham Catering or Chapel Hill Catering Co. (our caterer.) But if your venue ends up having one, nevermind.

Venues... I just could not choose! I was so stuck, luckily my friends saved me so now I'm getting married at their house. But some I looked at were Highgrove, Haywood Hall, Matthews House, and the garden at NC State, and Carolina Inn (Chapel Hill.)

Thanks Ladies!!! I really appreciate all of your recommendations. I was looking at Fresh Affairs when I saw Meredith and Ashley's wedding bouquets and centerpieces(gorgeous)! Ive also looked at Tre Bella and will plan on meeting with both really soon! I needed a DJ recommendation because I love to dance and I need someone good. Ive heard so many good things about Joe and ATRG so I know its gonna be hard to decide. I was considering Catering Works but the guy I have been working with has been extremely rude! I really like Carolina Inn from the pics so I need to check them out. Im gonna check in to the DJ Amanda recommended because I like to explore all of my options..I have a hard time making decisions..lol
