DIY Invites vs. Vistaprint/magnet street

I am debating DIY invites. I had a mock up done at Paper Depot and they were very helpful. The paper costs for invite/reception card/RSVP postcard/envelope ended up at $1.19/invite. I understand it could be a little difficult to print them on my own, and have to factor in the cost of the ink as well. I have 80 invites.

Would love the ease of just ordering off a website (i'm not terribly picky). Cost is the bottom line. I want the cheapest option. Has anyone found online invitations for less than $1.19 each for invite/RSVP card/reception card/envelopes?

  • I got mine off Vistaprint, thanks to Groupons I've only spent $80 including shipping and the costs of the Groupons and I got 80 invites as well. That also included my STDs. They've come out with a lot of great looking designs!

  • Question in regards to Paper Depot, did you take their class or did you just pop in on your own schedule?  That price sounds extremely reasonable to me.

<div>Thanks for the tip! I haven't seen any groupons lately, but will keep my eyes peeled. I do like the designs on Vistaprint. </div>

<div>I just stopped in yesterday (had the day off) and it was fairly quiet. I looked through their samples, found one I liked, picked out the papers and the did a free mock up for me. They said the class is really just for those who are unsure if they want to do DIY invites. They were very helpful. </div>
  • I'm doing my own and was surprised at the cost of printing. It is adding over $1 per invite to print a full color invite, RSVP card, map/directions insert, and accommodations/reception card. It will be nice when they are done bc they are totally personalized but between the headache of designing them to the cost of printing, I am on the fence about how I'd do it if I had it to do over.

</div><div>Thanks for the input! I was a little afraid of the cost of printing... I would do black ink, so may be a bit cheaper.

  • Okay so what all are you guys having printed??? I've set up STDs, invites, programs, and RSVP replies... For the design and amount I'm ordering for 130ish guests (MIL hasn't given me her full list yet). With the groupon I found, I can get everything for $150. Is that reasonable?
