We're getting married in October and are hoping for a layer of pumpkin cake with cream cheese filling and red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. We'll probably also throw a layer of chocolate in with chocolate frosting because I'm obsessed :)

Since our wedding is June 5th we're having a dummy cake and then having a vanilla bean with buttercream, a fresh strawberry with fresh strawberry icing, and also a banana nut cake (think banana nut bread but way better and super moist!)...also we will have a lemon cake with lemon curd filling and I don't even like lemon but it's surprisingly my favorite!

The groom's cake is going to be chocolate espresso with a chocolate ganache filling and icing with fresh fruit all around it! Can't wait!

we are having a four tier cake and chose white cake with raspberry filling for the bottom, white cake with buttercream filling for the second layer, confetti cake with buttercream filling for the third layer (I thought this would be fun especially for the kids and funfetti cake is my fiance's favorite cake) and then the top layer that we are saving is going to be white with strawberry filling. Although now that I hear all these different flavors that sound amazing I may change....

I wanted a little of everything, so I am going with:

    Buttercream/Buttercream
    Lemon/Raspberry filling
    Strawberry/fresh strawberry filling
    Chocolate/chocolate

Hope you find something that works!! Smile

We're having one tier as lemon pound cake with lemon buttercream filling and the other tier as yellow butter with strawberry cream filling.  Thought the strawberry was great for a May Wedding.  As for you getting married in October I would try something pumpkin, I think that would be great Smile

Ours will be 2 flavors, bottom layer is red velvet (my fiance & my mom's favorite) and the other 2 layers will be neopolitan layered as vanilla cake, vanilla mousse filling, vanilla cake, raspberry filling, chocolate cake, chocolate filling then chocolate cake.  They both are actually very light tasting adn the neopolitan has a refreshing taste to it when all together.  I can't wait for the wedding to have it again! haha

Well, I have never really liked cake. I didnt think that was going to change before the wedding. We did a few free cake sampleings, still didnt like cake. I decided to do Strawberry Shortcake. Not as a flavor, but the real thing. we have a cascading table with multi levels and on each level we are going to have lovely bowls/platters, one tier for fresh cut strawberries, one tier for real home whipped whip cream (suger free bowl too for the diabetics who are coming) and one tier for the biscuts. Deck it out with some pretty flowers and voila, a self serve cake station. :)

My cousin works in a pastry shop and is making cupcakes for the wedding. We're going to have Red Velvet with a cream cheese icing and also Lemon with Raspberry icing. He also suggested that we have some vanilla for those guests who aren't as adventurous. Have fun testing!

We're having 2 different kinds, alternating tiers (4 tiers).  Chocolate cake w/ raspberry filling and the other champagne cake w/ raspberry filling.  :) Have fun cake tasting!
