Where to register?! I dont need anything!

Although my wedding is not for a year, i am already panicking over the registry.  My fiance and I have lived together for two years; so we have (with a few exceptions) everything we need.  Are there any good alternatives to the normal cookware, decorations, and other homegoods? I am nervous not doing a registry, and winding up with a tragedy of unwanted gifts, but i really dont know what route to take! Is anyone else in this situation? Help!

  • Maybe there's nothing you need, but I'm sure there are things you want. Register for nicer kitchen/dining/bedroom/bathroom things and maybe add some home decor stuff--crystal vases, picture frames...etc.

This.. I've lived on my own for several years now, and FI and I have lived together for over a year now. We have a lot of the basic housewares and dishes and stuff, but we should definitely upgrade. Things like sheets and towels need to be replaced every so often anyway.
  • Great idea! thanks a bunch- i never thought to register for "entertainment" items; dvd players, cameras, etc. genius! thanks again!
  • Have you thought about registering for your Honeymoon?  there are several sites that can assist in that...

[QUOTE]Or dont register, most people will get the idea that you dont need gifts and give you cash instead. I would suggest a honeymoon registry but dont want to start WW3.

<div>Honeymoon registries are generally considered really rude. It's basically asking your guests for money. </div><div>

I know that doesn't explain where to register but I just loved this barcode scanning app from myregistry.com and had fun with it. My fiance and I don't need too many things but people are still going to ask you where you're registered so you should definitely considering adding items that fit your activities and lifestyle. Some people advise no to cash gift funds but you know what? You should reconsider it because in almost all cultures cash gifts are the primary gifts couples receive and you can apply those funds to fixing up a first home or a honeymoon trip. Personally, there is no shame in it. But just wanted to let you know about the iphone app (if you have an iphone) because then you can just add items from anywhere not just the usual department stores and so forth.

Good luck with the wedding planning! It's getting nutso over here!
