brothe trouble- who should walk

my dad passed away in 2008 and my eldest brother is walking me down  the aisle but my other brother is upset that i only want one of them to walk me down the aisle. how should i handle this should i give in and let him walk me too? and is there a different way to word the whole who gives this woman away?

Re: brothe trouble- who should walk

  • You could have both of them walk you down the aisle.  If you officiant uses the "who gives this woman" line, they can both respond "we do".  Some officiants don't even use that line anymore though, so talk to whoever is performing your ceremony.

Another option would be to have the oldest brother walk you down the aisle and then do a special dance with the other brother at the reception.

  • I would use both and make each of them happy!
  • They can both walk you.  They can take that line out of the ceremony, or they can say "our family."
  • I'd also go with both.  A friend of mine had both brothers walk her down the aisle and it looked great.
  • I agree. You could use both. It would also be a nice touch to maybe attach a small locket to your bouquet with a picture of your dad so he's also with you on your walk down the aisle. :)
  • What about having your mom walk you down the aisle?  I've seen that before and I bet she would really be touched if you asked her
  • oh, forgot to add...

you could also have your brothers meet you and your mom and the head of the aisle and when asked who gives this woman they can all 3 reply "we do"
