picking bridesmaids

So when you have picked out your bridesmaids what is the ettiquite on asking them to be a part of the wedding? I have 2 of my 3 that I have talked to and I kind of sprung it on them because my mom blurted before I had talked to them. 

Whats the adivce from others?

    Some people just ask straight up over lunch or whatever. But a new trend is to give your girls "Will you be my bridesmaid?" cards or gifts. That is what I did. I found a pack of these cards pre-made at Michael's (I think?) but alot of people make their own. They are a cute way to ask.

    I asked my girls with "Will you be my Bridesmaid?" cards. But there really is no etiquette, however you ask them will be just fine.
