dress update

Not sure if anyone remembers my question about removing the zipper and extending my corset all the way down to make my dress fit. Well I finally had time yesterday to make a visit to the alterationists house. While I need and wanted to lose the weight to fit into my dress..its just not budging and I'm just under 2 months to go...so I wanted to see what my options were. She is going to go ahead and let it out when she gets done with the gown and BM dress she is currently working on. The dress not fitting has been the only thing on my mind for weeks. I just kept thinking what if she can't let it out enough to fit...what if I have nothing to wear on my wedding day! I'm so upset at the salon where I bought it for tricking me into thinking it fit. When I came in to try it on and take it home..the girl pulled it up over my hips to zip it....making it bunch around my waist but I couldn't tell because it has ruching there. I thought something looked a little funny but I just thought I needed to lose 5 lbs and it would look better in my stomach. I'm happy that I got the dress I wanted but I just wish I'd have known from day 1 that it didn't fit so I could have been working on it since March..not the last 90 days before the wedding!

Re: dress update

  • I'm very sorry about your dress not fitting.  I don't know how into diets you can get, but I'm an Atkins girl.  Me & FI went on Atkins after the 1st of the year & in the first 3months I lost 20lbs.  I'm not saying its perfect or great for everyone.  It does take discipline.  But remember you are beautiful the way you are.  Maybe go try on some other gowns if the seamstress doesn't have enough let out room.  You could find a dress far beyond what you ever expected.  Best wishes in having the dress of your dreams.

  • I've seen you post on the getting in shape board before. Those ladies are full of great advice for losing weight and just a healthy lifestyle in general, I always go there for advice. I know this is the wrong board to talk about this on but your diet is more important than exercising, 70% diet 30% working out. You can't out train a bad diet. If you don't food log you should start. Use something like myfitnesspal or sparkpeople. I've lost 40 lbs and the lbs didn't start coming off until I started food logging. Good luck.
