Ever feel like...

... you're totally missing the boat on something? Like you're settling for a life that is less than what you know is out there?

I have always hated my job, its just never been something I enjoyed doing... but lately I seriously feel like there seriously has to be more than all the BS I put up with there...

I was driving home today, fed up like usual, when this song came on the radio:

Ummm yeah. I felt this way in when I was married to my XH. We had been together for so long that it was just natural for us to get married and I didn't know any different. The longer we were married the more I wondered when the divorce would happen and would we be amicable if we had kids. Basically thoughts that you should be having. The more I thought about it the more I realized that XH wasn't the person I was supposed to spend the rest of my life with. I felt stuck in a life that I didn't want and in a home that I could never feel like it was my own. I would sit and think wow this is my life and how I am going to live for the rest of my life, this sucks.

Now everything has changed. I have met a man that I can see myself with the rest of my life. I love him very, very much and we lead a life that I always thought that I would.

Sorry that was a little long, but I hope you got the jist of it. I guess my point is, don't let life get the best of you, you need to get the best of life. If that means finding a new job, go for it. I once started reading a self-help book called Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway. Although I never finished it, I use that phrase alot in my life and it usually works!!

Beitt you have no idea! I started working where I am in 2001. In 2006 I started nursing school to get out of here. At that time I was working here full time, going to school full time (clinicals were 6 hrs a day plus class), and raising my dtr on my own cause her father was an idiot. My ex-husband (not my dtrs father) didn't really help out around the house or let me cut back on work hours so I had to quit school. I hate it here so much that I sometimes don't sleep at night knowing I have to go to work in the morning. I'm still here cause I get good pay and 4 weeks vacation otherwise I'd tell my boss to shove it too! You said you may quit aft your wedding so that would be nice!

I am dying thinking about the chance to get out of here. I spent today telling people 'too bad so sad, we're not giving you any money for your house even though it flooded and destroyed everything right before Christmas because we wrote a loop hole into your policy for situations like that' or 'I know its legally required for you to have insurance, but we're not going to understand AT ALL that times are difficult and if you don't pay x hundred dollars by Christmas, you're cancelled and that will be on your record so good luck getting insurance again...'

How depressing is that?

I could move into sales, but then you're working commission to get paid.... its just frustrating, every now and then I get a file where I can actually help the person but most of the time I'm just the bearer of bad news

Oh Britt, that is a terrible job! I feel bad telling people if they don't pay their doctor bills that went to collections that they can't have a doctors appointment....but your job is way worse! You definately need a job like Cathy mentioned! Start looking!!

The problem is the city I live... Windsor was like 99% relient on the auto industry, every one of the big three was here at one point.... we know where that went

Until recently we had the highest unemployment in the country, we're at #2 now

You live in Windsor? My FI took me there last time we were up north (he's from Detroit). Its so cute there! We were disappointed that the Italian street was all under construction but I had a fun time at the mall. I fell in love with La Senza and La Chateau!

I had no idea how close Canada was to Detroit until I went up there. I'm clueless to anything north of Florida

I live outside of Windsor, but its the closest city for a job lol I commute 30-45 min to work pending traffic/weather/etc

I just dread having to do what I do all day. I have worked in retail, I served 6 years in the Canadian Military, and I would take either of those jobs back in a heartbeat over having to work such a depressing job all day.... we're days away from Christmas and I still spend all day either being swore at or listening to someone cry because I just gave them horrible news before the holidays

When I started it was great, I was coming fresh out of the military and was cold to EVERYTHING... this last year as I've gotten in touch with who I am and dropped the 'military side' of myself quite a bit (not entirely) I am finding it MUCH harder
