Hibachi Food for reception dinner?

FI and I had our first date at a Japanese restaurant and we go there probably once every other week. He brought up the idea of having hibachi food for our reception dinner (hibachi chicken and steak, rice, veggies). I told my parents and bridesmaids about it and they all love the idea, but do you think it's possible? Have any of you every heard about it or seen it at a wedding, or at least know if a caterer would be able to do it?

TIA Ladies :)

I think that sounds good.  You might want to post on your local board to see if anyone can recommend a caterer.  Is there a Japanese restaurant that has hibachi that does catering?  Are you thinking about setting it up as a station?

I love this idea! I've never seen it done, but I think it's do-able. I would start contacting catering companies and see what they say!

I love hibachi and i think that sounds freaking fantastic. You might need multiple stations depending on the size of your guest list in order to decrease waiting time. but what a great option! and very entertaining for your guests. Great idea!!

I think it's a neat idea and would be a fun thing for your guests.  I would just add to check with your caterer about being able to make a meal for people with allergies/restrictions or just have it set up in different stations (chicken station, beef station, veggie station, etc.)
