Recommendations for a photographer in Philly

I am looking for a wedding photographer- any recommendations would be great! The wedding is October 9,2010 in chesnut hill. I really want a journalistic feel- "magazine like" pictures. I need about 8 hours of coverage and have a budget of $1300. I do not need a fancy "wedding album", just simply retouched prints and a dvd as the final product.   Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

    My photographer is based in Lancaster but will travel no cost to you.  I can send you her name through PM if you want more info.  Then you can just google her to see her website.  She's not a big name like most of the other recs you'll get but I really like her, especially b/c she's young with fresh ideas.

     A photjournalistic style for $1300 is a pretty tough budget to work with in y experience, unfortunately  If you were looking for someone who will just take more traditional-looking shots, I can't help but others might be able to give you recommends close to your budget.  If youre able to up your budget a little bit, Marc Anthony or Rich Lavigne might be able to get you what you need.  Sharyn Frenkel is also supposed to be somewhat budget-friendly and in my opinion does pretty work.  Not sure exactly what her price point is, though...

    Larosita - Marc's base price starts at double her budget. Just an FYI

    I have Sharyn Frenkel's pamphlet of her old pricing, which I know has slightly increased. Her lowest package was $1550 and includes 2 photog's, DVD with all photos and copyrights, dressing to cake cutting coverage, and a 8by6 softcover album. maybe if you take off the album you will save a bit there...

    I just found this photographer's website yesterday - http://www.tednghiem.com/
    He is based out of Princeton, NJ and he travels.
    His lowest priced package "Distincte" is  $1,200 and offers 8 hours of coverage
    engagement Session, DVD of all the photographs, Online Gallery, Online Slideshow, and planning and consultation

    I believe that he is a newer photographer. I read on one of his sites that he officially started his buisness in 2008. But I think his pictures are great. Its worth a look!

    Sorry then, Buttons and OP....I just know him as a photographer that many view as budget-friendly.

    Ryan O. Photography was around that price a year and a half ago but I have no idea now, wouldn't hurt to check.

    Check with Kara Loomis Photography. She did my epics (some in bio) and they came out fantastic. I also know her pricing is pretty flexible.

    Yes, Sharyn is great, shes my photog :) however she is booked and is now starting around 2k I belive. Best of luck in finding something in your budget.

    my fi and i booked joseph molieri.  he's young but has a great photojournalistic style and has been shooting weddings since he was in high school.

    we are spending more than your budget, but have a second shooter and joe will be with us for ten hours.  i think it might be worthwhile to contact him and see if he can work with you.  he seemed rather flexible during our communications.

    we were looking for value but weren't willing to sacrifice quality.  i believe we found a great match with joe.

    We used Barry Hertzberg.  His office is in Newtown, but he's willing to travel.  He did a great job on the pictures, and he was reasonably priced.  He has a home office and he has lots of albums to look at.  Here's his contact info:
