we didn't get married there but i've been to a ton of events over the years. a few things to report: service is pretty good, food is about average, the different party at the same time thing turns me off and creates crowds in the bathrooms and valet lines, it's a rather generic venue but i've got nothing bad to say about it other than the lines issues above.
what made you choose that place over others that you've visited?

    @ alithebride

The outdoor space by the pool in the back was beautiful at night !
I loved it so much, the guy told me they just revamped it not too long ago...with that said I wasnt too crazy about the rooms since I want something more modern, but the pool reception area is making me feel like I can look past that ...it was awesome !

    @irisheyez

really ! oh wow , we spoke to Thomas and he seemed very sweet and kind, I am interested in bringing my family back to view it

No cookeis and iced tea for us !
     I feel cheated...lol
No, we sort of ran in at the last minute, I was actually going to see Wodbury Country Club down the road and drove past and I said "we have to go in here"
It was 9 at night and they were ready to leave and Thomas was so nice to try and accomadate us.
I loved all three rooms actually, but the grand ballroom was my fav because of the dramatic woodwork in the ceiling. However I'm not crazy about the fact that you can't have access to the outside area directly from this room...so I may opt for the room on the second floor that leads right to the steps and down to the pool (I forget the name)

When is your big day ?

That's the Plaza room!! It leads directly to the pool area!! Getting married there next year, November 3, 2012.

PS the cookies and Iced tea were amazing, I'm pretty sure my fiancee said yes to that place SOLEY because of that. lol And BTW we had Thomas too! Love him! He is so sweet!

I just had my food tasting with Thomas on Sunday, he is so awesome
I finally had the iced tea with the fruit chunks everyone talks about !
It was so delicious, my fiance and I had three cups throughout the day...we are looking at July 27 2012, the Friday dates are not over the top crazy with prices and you can still party late because most people dont have to work the next day. We were thinking of the empire room because I liked the tall ceilings with the funky lighting effects.

Does anyone understand why they charge tax on the 20% service fee portion of the contract ?

  • edited December 2011
Good question....I would assume its because it's a separate service charge and they have to tax it.  I would e-mail them though. They are VERY good at responding to e-mails within 24-48 hours.

Loves Crest Hollow! I am a 2013 bride and I had Thomas too! He is great!!! iced is just so good it should be sold..lol. I too will be using the Plaza! Great minds think alike...lol Is anyone using the preferred vendors and if so who?
  • edited December 2011
I heard they had a vendor showcase on September 7th but I wasn't able to attend. I plan to go to another one in January though..I would def give them a shot, at least to see if their rates are good.
  • Hi ladies,

    I'm looking to be a 2013 bride.
Any tips on Eric, he's the banquet manager we spoke with, but we didn't put a deposit down just yet.
    Any tips or recommendations?
He said we have to use their florist? Are they extremely $$?
Also some rooms were kind of old looking. Which of the 5 is the more modern look?

    Thanks!!
