Anyone here tonight?

My parents went to bed so FI's playing the Wii and I'm just hanging out.

Re: Anyone here tonight?

  • I am here! We had Christmas eve dinner at 5:00 at my aunt and uncles, opened gifts and all that, and now I am hanging out at home. Watching the QVC Christmas special. How has your Christmas been aleighk1?

  • We did Christmas with my mom, sister and her family tonight. My sister has a 2 year old so we had a lot of fun watching him open presents. When he would open up clothes or big boy underwear or shoes, he would look at them and then go "Okay, next present!" He was very entertaining. How has yours been?

How cute! I wish we had young kids in our family :( It has been good, pretty quiet and relaxing.

  • I'm here! I hosted a smashing dinner for the inlaws. I was really impressed with how everything turned out. Well, everything but the mashed potatoes. They turned into soup. I just didn't mention that we were supposed to have them!

I'm trying to edit some pictures and my photoshop isn't working :(
"In the old days my ass would be in your back yard picking cotton, so excuse me if I don't put much stock in how f*cking awesome the old days were." -Nuggs
  • Sorry your mashed potatoes didn't turn out very well. What else did you cook? Did you guys do presents, too?
  • I made sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, mac and cheese, maple glazed carrots, lima beans, biscuts, black forest cake and a pecan pie. We also had a honey baked ham.

We did presents with them, but we still have ours to do in the morning.

  • I'm here, and exhausted.  The time change is still kicking my ass.  I'm trying to stay awake for when H wakes up for his morning so we can try and chat for a bit, but I don't think it's going to happen tonight.  It's so much easier when I'm home because the timing difference is easier.

  • I bet that's really hard dnb, trying to coordinate schedules like that.
  • Yeah it can be.  Usually it's not too bad because we are exactly 12 hours apart when I'm home.  But being at my parents house it's only 9 hours apart and the difference is huge.  If he emails me soon after he starts his shift, say at like 8am, it's 8pm for me and we can chat for a few hours before I go to bed.  But on the East coast it's 11pm then and I'm exhausted.

  • I'm here and pretty bored. Drank too much coke so I don't think I'm going to bed anytime soon. Louisville-that sounds amazing. I'm a chef and I never cook Christmas dinner, my parents hate me for it lol. We had hamburgers : /
  • I'm here too. FI is cooking our Christmas eve dinner (lobster tail and quinoa salad), and getting ready to brine the turkey for tomorrow's dinner.

I'm chilling and watching it's a wonderful life. Love this movie.
  • heh, SD, hamburgers actually sounds pretty good :).

and louisville, that dinner sounds delicious!!
  • Ugh. I'm sitting here looking for a job. I hateeeeee job hunting. Hate it.
  • Yea, they were pretty delicious :)

Aleigh-Where in NC do you live? I'm in Cullowhee, its on the western side of the state near Asheville.
  • Oh, cool. I almost transferred to UNCG but decided just to stay out here.
  • I'm here too! My FI just left for work...the snow is beautiful but he has to leave me because of it :( We did have a great day with his family and he already surprised me with my gift...I am happy that we did have some time together. Enjoy every minute with your FI this Christmas ladies! Merry Christmas!
  • Hey ll! Have you been lurking for a while?
  • been lurking on the DIY board but it is starting to stress me out thinking about all I have to do!

  • I'm here. Just got home from midnight Mass. Ready to eat a yummy cookie I made earlier and have some Bailey's Irish Creme with H before we head to bed.

  • That is too funny. Yeah, I didn't really go by nicknames growing up, but one of my great Uncles kinda nicknamed me it so it just kinda stuck. Now H uses it too tease me bc I always joke that it sounds like a name from the Beverly Hillbillies or something.
