Deciding between 3 videographers...any advice??

I'm trying to decide between 3 videographers...do any of you have advice or experience with these vendors???

McElroy = Ben (the owner) was nice, but when I asked him if he would be shooting my wedding he said, "No, but one of our top videographers will".  I hate to book someone without seeing their work first.  What if the samples on his website are videos that he shot, and I get some crappy videographer?

NH Images = Jaime Wood, the owner would be my videographer, her stuff is beautiful, but she's a bit pricey (total for my package would be $2800, but it's for 9 hours).

Michael and Tricia Films = Beautiful website.  Never returned my email from almost 4 days ago...I know it's not a long time, but it is when you're planning a wedding!!!  So since I haven't heard from them, I don't even know if they're available on my day.

Any advice?  Thanks in advance!!!!!

I am working with Michael and Tricia for my wedding in May.  This is a side business for them so their emails tend to come a few days afterwards, but I wouldn't drop them from your list.  They do beautiful work and have been wonderful to work with!!!  I was persistent at first and am so happy that I stuck with them.  Good Luck!

I didn't use these people( I used Visions Forever) but here's my advice

McElroy--I woudln't feel comfortable booking a vendor if I didnt' know who exactly I was hiring.  Like you said you could be seeing beautiful videos on the website but your actual videographer might not have done any of them.  This is the downside of large companies.

I haven't heard anything about NH Images but I know a few people have complained on this board about the time it takes for Michael and Tricia to respond to calls/emails but I have seen some of their work from brides on here and it's fantastic.  Maybe wait a few more days before you decide.

I booked with McElroy, but I also am getting Ben for my Vid. guy. So...I understand your apprehension with not getting him. What about asking if you could meet with the videographer who would be filming your wedding? Maybe they could provide you with samples of their work? I think that's only fair.

....that being said, I'm SO dissapointed that Michael and Tricia were booked for my date. They have AMAAAAZING work.

As someone who has worked in film for about 4 years, I have to say that McElroy is fabulous but artistically, I would have picked M&T FIlms. I don't think you can really pick a bad one between the two.

    Just my 2 cents. :)

McElroy 100% even without Ben.  On his website he has a section of the other 3 videographers.  Patrick was our favorite the second Michael on the list was our 2nd choice.  It should say something like meet the team and you'll see their weddings that were edited the McElroy way. *the only reason we didnt book is because they dont book the other 3 until a year out and we needed to book now*

Trish and Michael do take a little white to get back to you but they are worth the wait if you can wait.  *they also would not book us until July/August*

We ended up booking with iWed Video out of NH and stated we'd do a late edit to get the price down.

DirtyWater, I can't find any videographers named Patrick or Michael on McElroy's website...

Was it their normal website that you saw those other videographers?

Thanks for the tip on iWed, I'll look into them!

I also tried booking Michael and Tricia, but they replied like 2 weeks later and I had already booked Ben. All in all, my first pick is Michael and Tricia...but I was really pressed and decided to book with McElroy. Ben will be our videographer in July and I was impressed with his work.
    Good luck! : )

    hello,
I would not feel comfortable with another shooter....In my opinion, the owner will do the best job.

I almost booked Michael & Tricia, but ended up booking Mavid Productions Videography

Wouldnt hurt to take a look at thier website.  I met with Russell and just loved him and his passion. His videos are amazing.

    Hope this helps!
