How does one go about finding an officiant? I've tried googling "wedding officiant Honolulu", but haven't had any luck finding a specific website other than actual wedding companies. Also, what do people usually look for when searching for officiants? Are some officiants specific to different branches of religions? Do some people just go to church and ask the minister to officiate their wedding? This is confusing to me, especially because I don't attend church.
As a side note, I've been to a couple weddings (awhile back) where I disliked the style of the officiants, I remember one making corny jokes during the vows... maybe the couple requested him to do that? Therefore, I'm also curious as to whether there is communication between the officiant and bride/groom beforehand in order to establish the desired style that they want the officiant to follow.
