Married Vegas Knotties

For those of you who did not have a formal reception after your ceremony... and had guests...

What was your timeline afterwards.  What did you do?  Where did you go?  ETC....

Depends on what you mean by formal reception -- that makes me think of the whole dinner, dancing, DJ, garter/bouquet toss, cake cutting thing.

We took our guests out to dinner. We took two hours after the ceremony for family pictures and a Strip photo tour and arranged for a bus to transport our guests to an off-Strip restaurant and we had the photo tour limo drop us off there. Since it's Vegas, our guests were more than able to keep themselves entertained between the ceremony and the time to get on the bus for dinner.

We also hosted a very simple but nice cocktail hour and dinner. None of the traditional entertainment and dancing, just nice food and drinks. Pics and more details in my married bio, if you're looking for inspiration.

We had a cake-and-champagne reception at 2 p.m. We didn't do anything formal afterwards ... it would have been too difficult to coordinate everyone, and most people were leaving after the wedding anyway.

We ended up going to dinner with a couple of friends, and then back to the hotel room for some exhausted alone time!
