Venue help...yes I know there are lots of posts but please read anyway

We were going to get married at the beach. We found a fairly reasonable place to have the wedding but there were only two hotels for our guests to stay at and both would have been around $300 a night. I am afraid that this will be the case at any beach especially in June or July when we want to get married. I am also exploring the idea of getting married closer to Greensboro but I still want outdoors and possibly some water. Any suggestions on places that are not ridiculous in price and will have reasonable choices for our guests to stay? PLEASE HELP, I am stressed beyond belief!!!

    What beach were you planning on getting married at? That may help with accommodations questions. As far as Greensboro venues, I don't know but some of the other ladies here definitely will.

    When you say "some water" do you mean a small lake?  A large lake?  A river?  A drainage ditch?  Whatcha talkin' about?


    What do you consider "reasonably priced"?

    What's "reasonable" for a place for your guests to stay?

    My friend got married in June at the The Hayloft. It's in Mcleansville in between Greensboro and Burlington. It's a really pretty barn. There isn't any water near it though.

    Highgrove Estate is in Fuquay-Varina, I believe, and is on a lake. It's gorgeous, although depending on your budget can be a bit pricey. They do catering though, so that's part of the package. Hotels around there include lots of more budget-friendly places, which could be good for your guests.

    When I was talking to them the minimum package was ~$8000, which included your tent, all your rentals for the ceremony/reception, food and beverage. At the time I was like "whoa too expensive!" But looking back on how much we actually spent... well, it doesn't seem so astronomical.

    Also- we were in Beaufort, NC last year in July and stayed in a B&B for about $140ish per night. They have a few wedding venues in that area, and also many B&Bs/hotels. If you look around, you should be able to find a beachy-spot which has lots of different accomodation prices.

    I had a friend get married at the Rose Hill Plantation. www.rosehillconferencecenter.com/">http://www.rosehillconferencecenter.com/.  There was a pond on-site and the outdoor gazebo that they got married at was on that pond.  Really pretty.

    There is also Duke gardens.  They are more reasonable priced and there are tons of hotels around duke that I am sure would love the business since school is out.

    There is Lake Norman near Charlotte/Moorseville and Carrigan Farms--both have beachy like places to get married. Oh I don't know much about the actual beach...I'm from a town near charlotte.
