Odd numbers

So I for the life of me can't figure out another bridesmaid and so far I have my maid of honor and 2 bridesmaids. FI has his best man and 3 groomsmen. So it's not even and I don't know about you but that kind of bothers me for some reason.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who has felt this way before lol. I think that's the OCD in me where things need to be even. Idk lol. I'd ask one of FI's other sisters but her son is his best man and I'm not sure if she's going to be the one to buy his tux (they live together and are really close but they're really tight on money right now). Not only that her dog just randomly stopped walking and won't move since yesterday and I don't think now would be a good time to ask. Even if I did.

I'm so confused lol. Have any of you just had an odd number of groomsmen and bridesmaids? I'm gonna feel bad that one of the guys will have to walk down by themselves. Unless 2 walk down with 1. Is that even possible?

I'm just rambling and thinking out loud now I'll stop lol.

Uneven numbers are perfectly acceptable.  You do not need to use your friends as props just to even things out.

They don't have to walk with one another either, they can walk by themselves and alternate between GM & BM, then GM & BM, etc.

  • I definitely consider myself a control enthusiast, so I understand wanting to have equal sides, but please try to resist!  Choose your closest friends and family to stand up with you.  They will be fine walking down the aisle alone, they've been walking around unattended for years.

I personally had 2-2, but it just happened to work out that way. I've been to several weddings with uneven numbers and never saw any issues with it.

I'm gonna feel bad that one of the guys will have to walk down by themselves.

    Why?

Unless 2 walk down with 1. Is that even possible?

Why on earth wouldn't it be possible?

So then pair people off as you wish, and any leftover people can walk solo.

Or everyone can walk in a single file line with no partner.

<div>Yeah I think I'm just going to use the idea that OBX2011 suggested and just have them walk down alone. Thank you for the suggestions. Much appreciated! :)</div>
  • We were supposed to have uneven numbers (one extra GM) but he had to back out due to some family health issues.  We would have just had two guys walk with one girl.

  • Or just have the GM already in front with the groom and officiant, and have the BM each walk down the aisle solo.

  • I have:
    Matron of Honor
    Maid of Honor

    FI has:
    Best Man
    Groomsman
    Groomsman

    We have
    1 Flower Girl
    2 Ring Bearers (Girls)

I was a little worried about this as well but I did not just want to throw someone up there with me to equal the sides.

What makes it a little more awkward is that the 2 ring bearers and 2 flower girls will also be standing up there too. But it is really no biggie.

  • Oh, and I am having my mother walk with one of the groomsman (he is my mothers son/ my 1/2 brother) to even out the walking.
