Maybe you can give us a little description of your budget and what kind of wedding you are looking for. This would help us narrow it down :)

Which bridal show are you going to?  I went to the one at Seneca Niagara Casino last year and found my dress in the fashion show, and also found my DJ and limo company there.

ETA:  My dress came from Bridal Chateau, and they were giving out sealed envelopes with things inside you could win if you bought your dress from there.  I saw mine in the fashion show and went there to try it on and bought it.  In my envelope I won a free bustle.  My BM dresses came from David's Bridal.

My limo company was Status Limousine, and I won 50% off at the bridal show.

And my DJ was TMD Music.  I met the owner at the show, and he knocked $50 off for meeting him there, so his total was $500 for the whole night and he did an awesome job.

I went to MA Carr for my dress. As far as venues my advice would be to get online and see what you see. I don't have a limo. I found my photographer at a show. I walked around looked at all the different books and styles and picked one. Good luck and if you have more specific question just let us know.

Ok, I am getting married in the Buffalo area.  I don't know what your budget for a wedding gown is but I bought my gown and arranged all the bridesmaid's dresses through David's Bridal (the one on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst, they were SUPER nice).  I got my gown, push up strapless bra, and veil for only $355, and the bridesmaid dresses are all really cute short styles for around $145.
I went with Carriage Trade Bakery for my wedding cake; it's a small family-owned bakery on Elmwood Ave. in the outskirts of the city.  My cake feeds around 80 and we also got a grooms cake all for $288.
My DJ is friends with my aunt's boyfriend and he is doing the whole thing for around $350 (5-6 hours).  I can get you more info on him if you want.  I haven't heard him personally but my aunt says he does a really good job.
As far as bridal shows go....go in with an open mind but also don't let them walk all over you, venders can be crazy haha.  But you could end up winning some good stuff, find out exactly the times for the show/drawings.  A girl at the show I went to this weekend wasn't present for the grand prize drawing and could have won (two #'s were drawn that didn't get claimed!!).

Thank you for all of that. I was thinking about going to davids bridal. I cant wait to go to the show this weekend and see you know all the different things that they have. Do you know usually like when they do the drawings and prizes? I have never been to one so I dont know like what to expect or anything. We arent getting married till july of next year.....do you think it would be too soon to go and look at dresses?

It is never to soon to go look at dresses! But if you find one and order it, don't look anymore. I am not sure about the drawings, proabably towards the end of the event. I bet if you ask the people in the biginning they will tell you.

The do different raffles and drawings throughout the day, knowing that people come and go at all times.  I went in the morning when it started, and they did the first raffle at 1:00.  You put your tickets in for what time you want it to be drawn.

Just a warning though, most of the prizes were only good through that year, so if you win something you might not be able to use it.  But it is a great place to get ideas and find vendors.

Bridal shows can be very overwhelming- I would probably just approach it as a way to make contacts and get ideas but in my opinion they are too busy to actually book anything.  However, if tuxedo junction is there check it out they usually have deals.  I am the moh for a friend and we went a few weekends ago to a show and got some good ideas for colors and things she likes and met some vendors.

    Vendor recs:

Dresses: try victoria's or bridals by d, (do not under any circumstances think about going to david's)

photos:  I wanted nickel city but coulnt afford it, i ended up with priore and was very happy!

venue:  it really depends on where you are and your budget but Samuel's has options for lots of diff bride's so it might be a good start to look there since they offer indoor and outdoor and have lots of different room and menu options for various price ranges

flowers:  I would definitely go to Lipinoga Florist- without question they are the BEST! Call and make an appointment to look at flowers- this isnt the kind of thing you can do at a show.

limo: zoladz is good- but i would check on deals at the show sometimes limo companies are there with deals ( if you are on a budget consider renting town cars)

all season for chair covers if you want them (which i would highly reccomend they look great)

invitations:  I actually found a bargain on invatations in home goods section at marshalls and drove around to a bunch and made my own from the template- this is an area you can save money and do it yourself

cake:  muscoreils in my opinion has the best taste and look

keep posting for help, the more specific your question the better help we can give you- and CONGRATS!

    My vendors:

    Dresses
: I got mine at Christine's Bridal, and she was really nice and also gave us a discount. We are shopping for our BM dresses on Monday.
Photographer: I am using Photography by Liz. She did our e-pics and they turned out great.
DJ: Phenomenon Sound. They can appear a little cocky (in my opinion) but they know how to have a lively party.
Videographer: Since I got such a good deal on our photographer, we were able to get a videographer. We are using 17 video production.
    Coordinator: Timeless Moments Events (Christina)
Cake: I agree with Mary, and I am using Muscoreils.
    Flowers: A Blooming Place (Jackie)
Limo: Zoladz, as they were the cheapest option for what my fiancee wanted.
Invites: I am making my own.

Dresses: I hear there is a new alfred angelo to check out, also try Bridal Chateau of Bridals by D

Tuxes: Marty's Formal wear in Williamsville- had a better selection of colors than tuxedo junction

Flowers: Lipinoga Florist in Clarence-  They are great and everything was beautiful and unique- the favorite vendor I worked with.

Cake Dessert Deli: did a small cal and we did cupcakes too!

Photographer: I had a friend from college do them- sometimes students will do them cheaper.

DJ: AAA music- just ok but reasonable priced
