Is anyone around?

Anyone around this afternoon?  I'm home for the time being, trying to get motivated to write a paper.

I am really irritated right now.  I went to look at another apartment today -- that's NOT the bad part!  The landlord was really nice, the place was inexpensive, HUGE, and had w/d hookups, all great.  I applied right then and there.

As I was leaving, this twenty-something bitch with a tongue ring stops me and demands to know if the landlord has given me the apartment, because SHE'S been trying to get in touch with him for days and SHE wants it.  WTF.  I told her that nothing had been decided, that I only applied for it.  She left and walked into the other apartment in the building (it's a two-family home), so either she lives there, or she knows someone who does.

Ugh.  I REALLY want this place, but wtf was that?

  • Awkward! I wish you could find something! Apartment hunting is the suck. When we got the call for this apartment, she said it would be empty by the end of the month (two weeks), so we gave our notice, moved our stuff to my parents shed, and waited. End of the month went by, and sitll no apartment. Moved into my parents, ended up waiting THREE months to get in! It was the most frustrating thing ever. We stuck with it because it was the nicest place in the area, but it was a frustrating time.

I'm here. Cleaning the house and working on some orders.

  • Blegh, Bay, that sucks. I'm glad my neighbours stay out of sight.

I'm home, thinking about stuff to try for dinner. Really should be writing my thank you cards, but I'm probably going to put it off until tomorrow. We went to our library's book sale today, I got a couple books I'd read before, and a few that looked interesting. 25 cents for paperbacks, whaaaat. They actually had a pretty decent selection all things considered. Then I went and got my eyebrows done, there's a place right down the road from our apartment that does an amazing job. I also went shopping for some summer clothes last night, which was fun.

Other than that, I cleaned up the living room a bit which makes me feel better, and now I'm just lounging watching TV.
  • hola!

I am watching a bunch of Undercover Bosses on demand while H takes a nap.  I think I am going to make some frozen pizza and relax.  We are going out to see some friends tonight.
  • Aw Eagles *HUGS*

[QUOTE]Thanks Babestate.  It's not even a wedding for one of my friends/family; it's one of FI's friends from HS who he never sees.  I just wish he were going alone but if I suggest it he'll flip his shiit.

<div>Man. Does not sound fun at all. Maybe they'll at least have an open bar?</div>

  • I'm sorry Eagles! *hugs and happy vibes*

I hope things get better for you, it sounds stressful and unfun.

Bay - I hope you get the apartment instead. You seem nicer than she is.

I have enjoyed spending the morning/early afternoon with my father. He's a trucker and happened to have a delivery near home with lay-over time. Unfortunately he only has until 4 pm until he has to go back to the truck. Oh well - 9 hours with him is better than nothing, right? Atm he's taking a shower (that he doesn't have to pay for and doesn't have a time limit!! haha) and then he and my sister are going to have a little bit of quality time before I bring him back. I'm happy to see him - it's been since Easter!

  • Eagles, that's terrible. I would get really 'sick' for about 24 hours.

I'm super glad you started this thread Bay. I'm bored out of my mind.
  • Eagle, that sucks :(  I hope things level out for you.
  • *hugs* Eagles.

Bay, how annoying! I'm so sorry she was so rude. Hopefully if she's in the run for it too her rudeness will be apparent and they'll take you instead.

I tried to nap so I'll be better equipped to stay up late tonight but I only managed a 20 minute power nap before my body decided it's time to wake up again.
  • I hate weddings like that, Eagles :(  If it sucks maybe you can leave right after dinner.

  • Omg Poke those are hilarious!
  • Chels -- I hope so.  I REALLY like this place.  It's not quite as nice as the one I missed out on, but it's still really nice, and heat's included, which is great.

  • Heat included is such a Godsend.  It easily saves 70-100$ per month.
  • Holy shiit, Poke.  The 70s and 80s were not good decades for fashion at all.  I'm especially creeped by the ones that are "photoshopped."

[QUOTE]8 hour bug?  I like it.  ETA: But it won't work.  Damn.  Well, the wedding starts at 5, and the typical package is 5 hours, so it'll be over by 10?  I hope?

<div>If you play up feeling ill at the start you could probably leave right after cake! But I'm sure H will understand if you want to leave early. And have fun at your shower tomorrow - sorry it's right in the middle of such a sucky two weeks. </div><div>
    </div><div>Chels - love the tiara. </div>
  • I'm here, waiting for H to get back from a job. I'm going to tag along with him to the other places later, just to have something to do. I don't feel like writing after this hell week, plus my wrists/arms are acting up so I need a break from typing.

I also just had a text debate with my mom over whether or not Peter Pan was Disney's brainchild. Mom, seriously. When I say JM Barrie created Peter Pan, you should believe me.
  • Hahaha Chels, the b-party I went to two weeks ago, the bride had a penis tiara.  Only hers was like...silver, with penis-shaped gems.  You couldnt tell unless you looked really hard.

  • Haha Chels, love the penis crown.

I'm around, I'm starting to clean out my room like I've been talking about for the last 3 weeks. As you can see from my posting in this thread, I'm not quite ready to stop procrastinating yet.

Bay, I hope you get the apartment, and I hope that if that girl IS your neighbor, she won't be a huge biitch to you because you got the place and she didn't.

Eagles, sorry you have to go to such a random wedding tonight, but hopefully it won't be so bad. I hope you enjoy your shower tomorrow, even though you're kind of stressed right now.

  • Thanks, Angel :)  The only -- ONLY -- thing that I will miss is having a bathtub.  But I will live without one.  I did a few years ago, I can do it again.

LMFAO! I just got to the pic of the Jaeger* -Meister wedding.

Sesh - that's pretty funny. My little sister heard one of the Grimm fairy tails (Cinderella I think?) and told me she liked "the original" (Disney) better. Haha, kids these days.

    Edited for spelling

<div>My parents had no bathtub in their first apartment. She had a friend that still lived with her parents in this huge fancy house. The friend's bathtub was one of those vintagey stand alone types and let my mom use it often. So she survived quite well : p</div>

I don't think I could do it. I live for my bubble baths. It didn't even occur to me that when we get an apartment, it might not have a bath tub. Crap...

  • I haven't taken a bath since I was a kid. I don't have the patience for them. H wants to one day get one of those tubs with the jets, which I agree he needs due to his work, but I probably wouldn't use it.
