Things that creep you out.

Today was my first day back to work in 3 weeks (yay for winter break!)--and my boss popped his head in my office to see how I was doing. Before I could get an answer out, he said "Well, I saw you at Costco on Friday---so that means you must be doing better!" and he left.

I was pretty creeped out by this--mainly because I didn't see him. At.All.

What are some things that creep you out?

Re: Things that creep you out.

  • A guy at work told me my jeans show just the right amount of skin. Um, I dont wear jeans to work!
  • I went to art school for both of my degrees. My first degree was in Fine Art: Painting, so we had a lot of live models, mostly nude. After the first few times of this, way back as a teenager, I got used to seeing the nude model as a series of shapes and values, not as a person, per se. However, when I would get on a bus or walk in a store and randomly see one of our models going about their normal business? Weirdo city. I would always stick my face in a book and hope they didn't recognize me. I'm sure they couldn't care less if they were recognized or they wouldn't model for artists in the first place, but it always felt squicky to me for some reason, like I'd seen them in a compromising position or something.

  • When people stand so close my hair moves, I dont like the idea of people being anywhere near my hair. At all.

When I walk into the basement and touch a spiderweb and thencan feel it on my arms I get goosebumps and freak out because it feels like something crawling on me.
  • When people in line behind me at the grocery store say , " Oh, you must be Brayden's mom" and I wonder how they know my child.

When spiders show up in my bathroom and I am naked/showering.

  • Waking up in my apartment the other night to the sound of scratching.  In the wall.  By long nails.

I live in the city.  We all know little mice don't have long nails.  They were rats in the wall.

I'm still scared the drywall will give out.
  • Another thing, when my dog starts to bark into empty hallways or empty rooms for no apparent reason, doubly so if I am home alone.
  • My laundry room. I just always feel like I'm not alone when I'm in it.
  • Hearing noises when I'm home alone. Oh, and chunky spit.
  • Millipedes there usually in the garage in the summer, but I went to dump the laundry from the basket into the washer, and one came out.

I work at a mall management office and this year when Santa came in he asked me out. Ewwwwwwwwww.

And how do you have "just enough skin" in jeans???

  • Wow. Chunky spit just made me gag a little. And yes, it's definitely creepy.
  • When my daughter was in school and 2 seperate teachers used the emergency info to call and ask me on a date.

When me and the guys at work laugh about sex stories and the 73 year old man chimes in.  I guess he was quite a gigilo in his day.

The sound of ripping cotton balls.

Anyone standing over my shoulder when I am on my computer. Hello, personal space here! My children are the worst offenders, especially when I'm trying to figure out why their cheap-ass MP3 players they got for Christmas aren't working.

  • My old gym teacher.  If any of the girls would say they didn't feel good he'd put his arm around your or rub your shoulder and say, "You feel pretty good to me!"  The age of lawsuits hadn't started yet, obviously.

These days?  Noises when I'm home alone.  Feeling anything brush against me unexpectedly (including my own body parts, haha).  The broker I work with who can't look a woman in the eye to save his life.

  • Spiders. And snakes. I get that fight or flight reaction with them and totally can't control it.

  • jajph - I'm that way about any kind of hair. If I see a random hair, I will think about it for the rest of the day.

<div>Oh, please don't.  I find it akin to licking a wooden spoon.  It doesn't creep me out, but it does send chills down my spine just thinking about it.</div><div>
    </div><div>Oooh, I just noticed I'm not a Newbie anymore.  Technically, anyway.  Nice.</div>

they don't - 1/2 the kids these days are named brayden so they're hedging their bets.
  • Nooooo Rach!  Now I am picturing it and I have the chills.....shudder.........

  • I hate people that don't understand personal space. On our honeymoon, we were standing in line at a restaurant waiting to be seated, and this family kept standing uncomfortably close to us. When the mother would fold her arms, she'd bump us in the back. We'd inch up and inch up, they'd continue to move.

People, that doesn't make the line move faster. Enjoy your own personal space.

In other news, I'm highly freaked out by bats and birds.
  • And how do you have "just enough skin" in jeans???

the holes in my jeans apparently.

When my cat stares up the steps at night and hisses at nothing.

My high school swim teacher who used to get in the pool with us during class and want to have chicken fights.

  • Yuck cotton balls ripping has this awful low pitched squeeky/creaky noise, thats muffled and disgusting.

most of them turn out to be parents of the other children at daycare.  So sorry you don't like the name.
  • I guess I've not ripped enough cotton balls in my life!! I'm genuinely intrigued, but now afraid of what will happen if I try it.

  • Don't laugh.

I am incredibly creeped out by clowns and people with painted faces. It all started from the movie "IT" and its just never gone away.

I also really don't like people dressed up as animals, like disney characters or the Chik-fil-a cow. Also, Telletubbies (are those even around anymore?)
