Where are you honeymooning?

Hi ladies- I'm new to the board and I wanted to find out if any of you are staying in OBX for your honeymoon. I'm planning a July 2010 wedding and we decided to have a mini honeymoon while we were down there and then take a longer honeymoon later. Any good suggestions on B&Bs, inns or hotels? Both of our families are already renting beach houses for the week but we would like a night or two of privacy to ourselves :)

We are going to do a mini honeymoon at the OBX as well when we get married next September.  We are going to be staying at Barrier Island Station.  They are really nice condo types places.  Has an indoor pool, outdoor pool, oceanside/oceanfront places.  We are using it as a timeshare that my parents have, but I'm pretty sure if you look them up, they rent them out as well.  Located in Duck.

Thanks for the feedback! I looked at the Sanderling when I was researching possible wedding sites and it looked beautiful in the pics, I can only imagine what it's like in person. The reception is actually going to be on Roanoke Island (Mallards Marsh) so I was looking at places in Manteo. I really like http://www.mooreislandproperties.com/ http://www.whitedoeinn.com/ and http://www.cameronhouseinn.com/ Has anyone had experiences at any of these places?

We ended up picking Cameron House Inn--I would have loved to stayed at White Doe Inn but FI nearly had an aneurysm when he saw it was $325 a night for the room I wanted. I'm happy with the decision and even happier that they took our reservation a year in advance. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the fact that they do not offer a full breakfast in the morning but I can deal- there's plenty of little cafes and shops to explore in Manteo. I'll have to make a note to myself to post my experience on here for any future OBX brides!

I'd suggest checking out The Castle on Silver Lake at www.thecastlebb.com. It's a beautiful 11-bedroom B&B and also has a handful of Courtyard Villas in the back. I love the 3rd floor Lighthouse Suite with panoramic views of the harbor. Oh, and the breakfast is fantastic!  Or, if you want to stay in the Nags Head area, check out First Colony Inn at www.firstcolonyinn.com - this is such a charming historic B&B with wrap-around porches and ocean and sound views on the top floor. Their honeymoon package includes champagne, chocolates and six long-stemmed roses with your stay, as well as, breakfast delivered on a silver tray your first morning. I've stayed at both The Castle and First Colony Inn and had a wonderful experience each time!

We are planning a three-night getaway after the ceremony at Clemons Cottage.  http://clemonscottage.com/Since we are planning on renting a big beach house for the wedding party to stay in and for the reception, we thought we'd like to get away for the first days as husband & wife on our own.  My mom has offered to cover the cost as a gift to us.I would like to have a full-on exotic honeymoon later on for an anniversary.
