veil or no veil?

Hey ladies!  I found THE dress this past weekend!! YAH ;-) But when I tried on the dress we also tried on several veils.  My dress has a lot of sequences and pearls, and I think the veil takes away from the dress.  We are having a church wedding, but by all means it's not to small approx 250 ppl attending.  We haven't made and plans formal, we are a pretty casual couple.  What r ur thoughts on to wear a veil or not to wear a veil?  TIA!!

You don't have to wear a veil if you don't want to. Or you can get creative and wear something like a birdcage veil. I personally don't like veils and I'm instead going to wear either a flower or ribbons in my hair. It's your wedding, do what you want. And it's sequins (sorry, pet peeve of mine)

At first I wasn't going to wear a veil either because my dress had a lot of crystals on it, but when I tried on some different kinds I realized that it really made me feel lik a "bride" instead of a girl in a pretty white dress. I only wore my veil for the ceremony and then took it off and put a gardenia in my hair for the rest of the evening.Do what you want to do, but for me, I found that the veil really made me a difference. I was really set on not wearing one until I found the right one. There are so many different kinds of veils out there, if you're not sure yet, try a bunch on to see what accents your dress the best.

BTW after I found the right kind of veil, I ended up making mine! Much less expensive and it turned out exactly how I wanted it!

I didn't wear a veil, and am 100% happy with my decision. It was great to have one less thing to worry about on my wedding day-I wore a gorgeous hairpin instead (PIB for examples) and got a ton of compliments. I had the same concerns as you re: the veil taking away from the detailing on my dress, and also being a fairly casual girl I realized a veil wasn't necessary. GL with whatever you decide!
