Joel and I went to DisneyWorld in Orlando, FL in July 2008. We decided to go to the Magic Kingdom the night before the 4th to avoid the craziness. Little did I know I was about to experience my own craziness! He told me he wanted a picture in front of Cinderella's Castle...but you see...Joel and I had gone to Disney numerous times before and have already had a picture in this spot. He insisted...and so he asked a lady for a photo. She informed him that they had taken their last picture because the firework show was about to start in front of the castle. Next thing I know.. we were waiting for her to verify with her manager whether or not they could squeeze one last picture in. She came back and asked us to follow her....so we did. We were escorted right up to the front of the castle. As we waited in line...the firework show started. I was so into the show....that before I knew it..Joel was calling my name because it was our turn for a picture. We went up to the spot where the photographer had his gear setup...and he took a few picures. I figured after the few pictures were snapped..that we were done...so I got my bag and started to walk away....assuming that Joel was with me. Just then, the photographer held a finger up to me as to say "One more shot." So I put my bag down...and headed back to the spot...and right then Joel handed me a note and said to me "The photographer wanted you to read this..." I was caught so off guard...that as I read it....it still hadn't hit me as to what exactly was going on! On the note were the lyrics to mine and Joel's favorite song.."You & Me" by Lighthouse. At the bottom of the note it read "Now that I have your attention...I was wondering if I could spend the rest of my life with you...." When I put the note down...and saw Joel there with the ring....I screamed and cried...and then screamed and cried....and while all this was going on.....the Disney photographer was capturing every moment of the proposal in pictures and the fireworks were going off! It was truly magical! Of course I said YES! I was in shock for a good half hour....it was the best night of my life!!!~Melanie
