Comfort Inn Suites - Questions

Does anyone know about the Comfort Inn Suite in Vegas?  I have been extremely pleased with them in other states but was just wondering about the one here.  Dan and I are trying to be budget concious and felt this might be a bit better than getting a place on the strip.

All comments and suggestions are welcomed!

The time and money you'll spend getting to and from the Strip will wipe out any money you think you'll be saving by staying here. There are plenty of budget-friendly places on the Strip.

Seriously, I can't emphasize this enough.

I have to agree with this.  Cab fare really adds up.  Watch for deals on smartervegas.com and sign up for the various resort's e-mail alerts for discounted rates.

Sorry I'm no help on your original question but sign up to get e-mails from various hotels on the strip, I'm always getting deals sent to me especially from New york New York for like $44 bucks a night. Luxor and Excalibur are a couple other budget friendly options.

We were thinking of renting a car so we wouldn't have a problem with transportation.  It looked from the map that Comfort Suites was off the strip.

Yes, it's a 10-mile drive one way to get to the Stratosphere, which is the northernmost end of the Strip. If you really want to spend a couple hours a day sitting in stop-and-go Las Vegas traffic, go for it. It sounds like you've never been to Las Vegas; a lot of the ladies here are Vegas veterans, and we're really trying to help you make the most of your vacation.

You don't need to rent a car -- a shuttle to/from the airport/any Strip hotel would run less than $30 round-trip for both of you. I am a firm believer that all Vegas virgins should stay on the Strip.

Ditto this!  you will have a lot more time to enjoy yourselves staying on the strip and not worrying about parking too.  I don't know what kinf of budget or room you have in mind but there are many budget friendly options on the strip.  Bally's, Harrah's, Imperial Palace and Circus Circus also come to mind if you are just looking for a place to sleep and shower.

I think you could find a good place on the strip for the same price. What are they charging at comfort suites? Cab fare or even renting a car is costly, so its not really like you will be saving a bundle. My brother always uses the hotwire name your own price and he gets great deals.

I have to agree with what everyone is saying.  Do your self a favor and stay on the strip!!!!

Remember, time is money.  So the money you save you will spend with your time. Sitting in traffic, trying to find where to park, waiting for valet to get your car...

Also, if you are a drinker, why would you want to rent a car and have to worry about driving??

Dan and I do not drink, so that's not a problem.  We may want to go outside of Vegas during our honeymoon to do some exploring on our own.

I believe the price for the Comfort Inn Suites was $83/night.

For when?  A weekend?  If not, that is high for mideweek rates unless during a convention or major event.

Rates at the GN for our week are $42/$59 midweek for the Carson and Gold Towers respectively.  Weekend rates are $89/$109.  I think for $83 you can do better.

What dates are you going to be there? I guarantee you can find a better rate than $83/night on the Strip.

    This.
I stayed on the strip and rented a car my 1st time in Vegas. First I couldn't remember what hotel I parked my car at times....annoying lol. And the traffic is crazy ALL DAY. And my rate was really budget friendly around $60 a night at Harrahs. I did go downtown and drove to freemont street etc so the the car worked great for that but otherwise not needed and you can get a deal in the middle of the action. HTH

you can stay at the Flamingo - which is right in the center of the strip - for that price.  but, if fyou're not looking to do strip things, there really isn't ny need to stay there.

With Dan's job he is subject to drug/alcohol testing at any time so because of that he has decided not to drink.  Some people think that's weird but I respect that.

And I know you were j/k!

No set date as of yet but most likely after Labor Day 2012 up to early October 2012.  The business he's in tends to get busy in October so we want to get married before the rush sets in.  We also want to avoid excessive heat!

I am the General Manager of the Comfort Inn & Suites Henderson/Las Vegas.  I wanted to let you know that we offer complimentary shuttle service to and from the Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas Strip and the airport.  Our hotel is the newest of the Choice Hotels in the area and ranked within the top 100 for service and cleanliness.  I am sure you would be comfortable at our hotel.  I have to agree with the other posts as well.  If you have not been to Las Vegas and want all that it has to offer, staying on the Strip can be very exciting.   Please make sure when you are booking to inquire about any hidden fees, i.e. Resort fees, Energy Surcharges and Internet fees.  Some of these are added to your bill regardless of whether or not you use them and can increase your bill.  This isnt always the case, just something to be aware of. If you have any other questions, feel free to email me at jwatson@comfortinnhenderson.com.  Best of Luck! Jackie Watson
