Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Last minute change of heart-- er, i mean hair.;)

So, for most of my engagement, I have assumed that I'd do my own hair for the wedding. I've had a couple bad experiences with hairstylist updos and felt like I could probably do a better job on my own. And anyway, I want something natural-looking and not plastered-to-my-head-w-hairspray.Well, it is now 1.5 weeks to the wedding and i'm having some serious second thoughts. I've tried practice styles on my hair and trust me, i've scared myself! i'm now in desperate search of a good salon/stylist for wedding hair -- and something that will have an opening two weekends from now.Anyone have any suggestions? I don't see many posts on here about where people go to get their hair done... I need something quick!

What area of the cities are you looking for one?

South Metro - I recommend Coles Salons. There are several of them, so you should be able to find someone available. Are you looking for your BMs too, or just you?

In Maple Grove I recommend Marc Daniel Salon. Two ladies from there did our hair for a friend's wedding and everybody looked amazing.

It might be hard to find a salon that isn't already booked but my friend does updo's on the side (she went to cosmetology school but hated working the salon hours). For my brother's wedding in April she did my hair as well as my mom's and my two sister's hair. She only charged $35. She might charge a little more, like $50 for a bride but I'm not sure. I'll post some pics. Email me if you want her contact info: veit0042 @ hotmail .com

North end of town - try Shear Genius Salon. Kim Welch is my regular stylist and is doing my hair for my wedding. She doesn't travel off-site, but she might have an opening on such short notice. Info in bio.

I second Marc Daniels Salon in Maple Grove. I went to Courtney B. when I still lived in MN. Anyone that works there would be wonderful to work with and would do an excellent job.

In the city, I would recommend Salon Intrigue in Minneapolis: http://www.salon-intrigue.com/I'm pretty sure they could fit you in and I loved the up-do they did for me. Sorry, I can't remember the name of the stylist, but it was only $40!

thanks for the suggestions. the wedding is in st. paul (near highland park), so location-wise, i've been looking in that area.someone recommended ficocello's on snelling, so i booked a practice appt and day-of appt there this morning. i'm crossing my fingers!

Another St. Paul recommendation is Rocco Altobelli on Snelling... Lynsie does my hair there and is FANTASTIC... There's a guy that works there that I've heard is good too.
