Wedding Party

Bridal Party Gifts...?!

I am struggling big time with choosing my bridal party gifts. I want to get them something that they will be able to use and appreciate. I love the personalized totes but what's really frustrating is I'm not sure how much to spend. We have a really small budget and my bridesmaids know that we're struggling paying for everything but I don't want to be cheap with them. They deserve the best...so what are some ideas? I'm not sure if I should get a few small things or one nice gift?

Re: Bridal Party Gifts...?!

• Think "What would I buy this person for her birthday," and not, "How can I get her something that has to do with my wedding?".
• Ditto banana, buy them something along the lines of what you would purchase for a holiday or their birthdays.A gift doesn't have to be expensive to be useful and appreciated.
• UH! i have been struggling with this too!! I dont want to get the ladies any of that standard (tracky) bridesmaidsy things...but with 5 BM it makes it tricky, i cant really afford to spend too much. I was thinking of getting the girls these lovely clutches, they are a hard clutch, silver in color, would match there silver shoes for the wedding and i thought they would look great though with jeans or whatever and would get used again... What do you think??
• Figure out your per person budget and then think of each individual as an individual and get them the thing that would make them happiest within your budget and then wrap it in wrapping paper of teh wedding colors and attach a note telling them how much they mean to you. Honestly a personal well thought out individual gift that cost $5 is much better then a generic gift of a tote, jewlery that matches your wedding and a ton of bath products that all told costs $100 or more.
• For the bms, I'm getting them some of their fav scented stuff from bath and body works (they have good deals if you buy 3 you get 1 free, so that helps) and putting it in a cute bag.For the gms, I'm getting them personalized capcatchers fromhttp://www.capcatchers.comThey came our really awesome, and they weren't even that expensive. For the fgs, something cute from claires in the mall, and the rbs, a video game for the nintendo ds.
• Some ideas I have come up with so far (my wedding isn't until June, so I've got time), and a couple I've seen suggested previously on here:  Gift card to their favorite store (starbucks, ny&co, etc); I'm making jewelry that suits each of them but *isn't* for the wedding; I'm also going to put different drink mixes that you can order online (in liquid form already) that I know they would love.  Tickets to an upcoming concert they want to see are also a good choice, if you can get them cheap.Obviously, these things aren't for everyone, but they fit my particular BMs.
• I fond a nice tote bag at Marshall's for $10 that I think my BM will love (it was designed by Gwen Stafani and it's an everyday handbag-style tote). I plan to find a similar everyday tote for MOH, or maybe some kind of purse or overnight bag that she would like. So they'll double as gifts and as the actual gift bags (I hate wrapping paper, it's such a waste). Not sure about what else I will get them. I got some ideas from browsing on Etsy.com, and am keeping my eyes open at places like Target and Five Below. My other ideas include wine, candy, books, DVDs, clothing or accessories that they can use in everyday life, etc. I figured I'd also include a gift card to a store/restaurant they like, or something like Amazon.com or iTunes. I may get them pashminas and possibly jewelry for the wedding (if they don't already have something they want to wear), but that's because *I* want them to have them, not because I think they'll necessarily enjoy them. Depending on the dresses we go with, I may contribute a bit to that as well, or treat them to hair/makeup. I will decide that later.

• Wow! What great suggestions! Thanks everyone! I feel a little better now and think I'm definitely going to try to stick to $30 a BM and $40 for MOH...all really good ideas. Keep em coming if you think of anything! Good luck on your weddings!
• Holy Moly Mollygirl!Your siggy is huge!   Please shrink the photo.
• www.belladesignsnh.etsy.com custom pendants with monogram, initail, word or quotes.
• SANDRADPAGE: The silver clutches is a good idea. Very cute! They can wear them when they go out with jeans. I'd love that gift!:-)
• Flasks? What about that or is it too original? What do the guys like? Do they golf? Hunt? Fish? Casino?
• My Fiance received a really nice sign to hang on the wall.  It's one where it says Mr. x's Bar or Poker or something like that.  We are going to hang it in the basement.  FI is getting his GM's pint glasses with their initial on them or a monogram.  I really like the Coach outlet idea.  Here are some ideas I am trying to decide on: bathrobe with their first initial, compact with name on it, travel jewelry holder/roll.  I already got them flip flops for the reception.  I also found really cool frames that fold and 1 side is a poem about being a BM & the other side is a picture.  I am debating this or giving this once we get pictures back.  It is something that to me is personal and meaningful, but might be cheesy to them!  To ask my BM's I made them a book of photos of us for as long as I have known them.  They actually really all loved that.  Try snapfish or kodak - they have them out and show everyone, brought them into work and all!  It's an idea for a BM gift.
• I just bought my BM's a hand-painted lolita martini glass and picked ones that suited each of them perfectly. The glasses are $23.95 on most websites with free shipping being offered on plenty. Also, the bottom of the glasses have a martini recipe painted onto it and they come in their own gift box. If that's a little too pricey, they have neat shot glasses that are also painted for $11.40, most with recipes also painted on the outside. The shot glasses are something small, but it's also pretty neat. The age range for my BM's is 22-28 so they're still in an age frame that would like this kind of stuff.Just an idea; I wish you the best!
