Hi Ladies....i have a question about envelope etiquette...our wedding is not black tie and i would air on the side of casual but not backyard bbq casual.I was thinking of using just first names on the inner envelopes....so instead of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" it would say "Joe and Susan". Any thoughts?Also, is it the woman's or man's name first?TIA!

I think using just the first names is fine. We did not have inner envelopes but pre-printed the names on the RSVP cards and that is how we did it (first name plus the last name, no Mr. or Mrs.). Depending on who the invite is for, that's basically what I'm doing. for the "grown ups" I'll probably write Mr. & Mrs. Smith but for everyone else (ie friends and immediate family) I'll write just John & Mary on the inner env.
