    Yes, very tacky.

    Nobody HAS to give you a gift. They guests that do are already going above and beyond. Implying that gifts are required is rude. Dictating specifically what the gift should be is really rude.  Some guests will give you cash gifts, but you shouldn't be relying on them. The honeymoon should be something you can afford without any help at all.

    Honeymoon registries are flamed a lot on here.

    Why not just ask for cash?  Same thing really

    <div>Well if you have ever lurked here at all you would know that honeymoon registries are really frowned upon.  So if you don't want to  hear that it's tacky, I don't suggest bringing up the subject on the etiquette board.</div>
