Goodale Park

So we decided a few months back to have our ceremony at the Goodale Park Gazebo and I can't wait! The only problem is Parks and Rec only set up 20 chairs for the guests and we need to provide the rest if we choose to do so. We only have the gazebo from 1:30 to 3:30 which includes the setup, ceremony and cleanup. I honestly can't see everything being done in that amount of time. Several members of my family said to not bother with more chairs, the elderly and new moms can have the seats and eveyone else can stand for 20 mins. My fiance seems to be ok with this too but I'm beginning to think it isnt a great idea. Anyone have and suggestions on this?

My family has the same opinions, that chairs are a waste of money. Ultimately it's up to you but if your guests don't care I don't see a reason to have chairs unless you are afraid pictures will be difficult w/o them.

My only piece of advice is to consider the cost.  We are also doing a park wedding and the rental costs are nothing compared to delivery, set-up, take-down, and pick up.  Obviously it will vary with whomever you choose but it is running us over $300.00 for the chairs + rental costs.

Honestly....if I went to a wedding and had to stand I'd be slightly put off. The ceremony may only be 20 min, but people will arrive early and stay later. Plus I hate standing in grass in heels....you're bound to sink in. I have lived across from goodale park for over 4 years and wittnessed countless wedding happen at the gazebo. I have only seen one that didn't have chairs for everyone. So it most definitly can be done in the time given. Unless you really can't afford it, I would try to rent more chairs.

Yeah, thats pretty much how I would feel too. I also have worries about the aisle being blocked if everyone is standing. I'll start looking for chairs. Is there a rental company anyone would recommend?

I am using Lasting Impressions.  They allowed me to pick specific times for drop-off and pick-up.

I agree that you'll probably have to provide chairs.  Standing in heels in grass is tricky and uncomfortable. Plus if it's warm out, people are going to be all fidgety.
