finding the cake

I have a friend who's sister makes cakes and she has said she helps her from time to time.  So I asked to see if her sister would make a sample cake for us to see what it looked like and tasted like.  She said I have seen pictures of her work but all the pictures were older.  I don't want to be disappointed on my wedding day, am I being a "bridezilla" to want to see a sample?

    Absolutely not! Even if you have seen pictures of her work, I still think you need to taste them! Did she have pictures that were similar to the style that you wanted for your wedding as well? If not, then it's also fair to want to know if she can do it. When we went to our tastings, we saw albums full of recent up-to-date cakes that she (Anita) had done for other brides, and many of them were styled just the way we wanted, so we were confident that she could deliver. Bridezilla is an overused term, and I think in this case you have every right to want to do a cake tasting. I think your friend is taking your request the wrong way. If you want to see a sample done up and such, maybe just offer to pay her a little to do one. Otherwise, tastings should be free and necessary. :) Friendors are great sometimes, but tough to work with because you're always more afraid of offending them rather than complete strangers.     I agree with the other chick-a-dees, you are NOT I repeat NOT being a "bridezilla". It is common practice to have samples! Any one who says otherwise is smoking something.
