Alternatives to Flowers?

Does anyone have any cool ideas or inspirations for using alternatives to flowers?  We're doing non-floral centerpieces, so I'm talking like bouquets and boutonnieres.  For example, I saw a bio with a Japanese-style wedding that had origami flowers for bouquets instead of real flowers. Any similar ideas?  I'd prefer to have something creative and fun!  Thanks

I'm having this same dilemma. The one idea my fiance and I talked about was doing pocket squares instead of boutonnieres for the men. It could also work as an attendant gift if you had the persons name or initials monogrammed on it-- Killing two birds with one stone is always a plus for me!

I'm also not a fan of real flowers (they just die soon after anyway!) so I'm going to go with hand-made clay flowers from a lady in California. It's a bit pricey so I'm just going to use her for my bouquet and the boutonnieres. The flowers will last so much longer, be beautiful and unique, too!

I'm getting married in the winter and trying to figure out if I want muffs for my bridesmaids or doing a crystal and feather bouquet. I just saw one the other night and fell in love with it. Plus, they look like you could easily DIY them.

Im looking at making Fabric flowers for some of the arrangements, of in my case, mixing fabric and real. I also like the idea of doing colorful fruits for centerpieces. make the favors part of the centerpiece design.Something that is non floral, but still requires life plants are potted plants of some kind. Im going to use Mint, among others.

I am doing jeweled bouts and corsages for my wedding (use wire and swavorski crystals). I ordered from a lady on etsy, but got the idea after googling the phrase and getting some ideas from UK sites. I think I may have gotten my original idea from one of those web sites that sells crystal stem bouquets? It's been so long ago I am unsure.http://www.brilliant-wedding-jewelry.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=4&zenid=9993ens6pm72qs918c7l4011u4
